1 subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the seafarers safety duty health conditions, testing methods and assessment principles.
This standard applies to the application of "the Chinese people's *** and the country of seagoing crew certificate of competency", "the Chinese people's *** and the country of seafarers professional training certificate", sailor or mechanic "duty visa" crew in order to be competent for the corresponding jobs on board the sea ship, the full performance of their duties, the safety of duty, as well as to cope with emergencies at sea should have the health qualifications of the evaluation. 3 Terminology
3.1 Health conditions
Physical fitness
refers to the seafarers should have the basic physiological qualities to safely perform their duties at sea.
3.2 Seaman on Watch
ratings forming part of a navigaio watch
means the general crew of a ship that forms part of a navigational watch as provided for in Rule 11/6 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978.
3.3 Engineer on watch
ratings forming part of an engine room watch
means the general crew forming part of an engine room watch under Rule III/6 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978.
3.4 New Recruit
beginner
means a seafarer who has been in actual service on board a seagoing ship for less than twelve months.
3.5 Active
serviceman
means a seafarer who has actually served on board a seagoing ship for a period of twelve months.
4 health conditions
4.1 height
Newly recorded: the height of the pilot should be greater than or equal to 1.65m, other seafarers should be greater than or equal to 1.55m.
4.2 spine, limbs
Features are correct, limbs are not crippled, the unequal length of the two lower limbs is not more than 2cm, the spinal column lateral change is not more than 4cm and there is no backward protruding deformity.
4.3 Distant vision
Using the standard logarithmic visual acuity scale or the international standard visual acuity scale, according to the needs of their positions, respectively, as follows:
4.3.1 Captains, pilots and sailors on duty
Newly recruited: both eyes with naked visual acuity of 5.0 (1.0) or more, or one eye of up to 4.9 (0.8), the other eye of up to 5.1 (1.2) for the qualified.
Currently employed: those with visual acuity of 4.9 (0.8) or above in both eyes, or 4.8 (0.6) in one eye and 5.0 (1.0) in the other are qualified.
4.3.2 Chief Engineer, Engineer and Duty Engineer, Announcer and Electrician
New Recruits: with visual acuity of 4.8 (0.6) or better in both eyes, or 4.6 (0.4) in one eye, and 4.9 (0.8) in the other eye: or 4.6 (0.4) or better in both eyes, but corrected (i.e., by wearing eyeglasses), and able to see 5.0 (1.0) in both eyes, shall be qualified. 5.0 (1.0) is considered a pass.
Currently employed: those with visual acuity of 4.6 (0.4) or better in both eyes, or 4.5 (0.3) in one eye and 4.7 (0.5) in the other; or those with visual acuity of 4.5 (0.3) or better in both eyes but with corrected (i.e., with eyeglasses) visual acuity of 4.9 (0.8) in both eyes are qualified.
4.3.3 Other crew members and trainees of the ship's deck or engine department may be qualified to the standard test of "present position" in 4.3.1 or 4.3.2.

6 Occupational Contraindications
6.1 Diseases of the cardiovascular system
6.1.1 All kinds of organic heart disease with cardiac insufficiency, coronary heart disease unstable angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, acute myocarditis.
6.1.2 Sick sinus node syndrome, second-degree type II and III atrioventricular block, first-degree and second-degree type I atrioventricular block with a history of fainting, left bundle-branch block, double- or triple-branch block, and diffuse intraventricular block.
6.1.3 Frequent atrial or ventricular premature beats (>5 beats/min), pairs of premature ventricular beats, multiple sources of premature ventricular beats, RonT-type premature ventricular beats, recurrent episodes of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, all types of ventricular tachycardia, atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation.
6.1.4 Pre-excitation syndrome with history of atrioventricular refractory tachycardia or atrial fibrillation, congenital prolonged QT cycle syndrome, and cardiac mucus pain.
6.2 Respiratory disorders
Bronchial asthma, bronchial dilatation with recurrent hemoptysis, recurrent episodes of spontaneous pneumothorax, and pulmonary insufficiency of various causes.
6.3 Digestive system diseases
Peptic ulcers combined with bleeding, cirrhosis of the liver in the stage of decompensation or combined with esophageal varices, cholecystitis cholelithiasis and recurrent biliary colic.
6.4 Diseases of the urinary system
Acute and chronic nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, renal insufficiency, urinary stones and recurrent renal colic.
6.5 Hematologic disorders
Various hemorrhagic disorders, severe anemia (Hb<8gm), granulocyte deficiency.
6.6 Endocrine metabolic system diseases
Hyper- or hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus requiring long-term insulin therapy or with serious complications.
6.7 Neurological and psychiatric disorders
All kinds of neurological disorders causing intellectual or physical activity dysfunction, epilepsy, various types of mental illness, nocturnal wanderers.
6.8 Malignant tumors
6.9 Infectious diseases
6.9.1 All crew
Acute viral hepatitis, chronic active hepatitis, bacillary dysentery, typhoid fever, paid typhoid fever, cholera, paid cholera, active stage of lung structure.
6.9.2 Cooks, waiters, stewards, carpenters
In addition to the infectious diseases referred to in 6.9.1, positive HBSAG, elevated single gammaglutaminase, healthy carriers of typhoid fever, bacillary dysentery, cholera.
6.10 Sexually transmitted diseases.
7 Test methods
7.1 Visual acuity: left and right eyes were measured separately. Equivalence was tested with a logarithmic or international standardized visual acuity scale.
7.2 Hearing: Determined by pure tone audiometer, model is not limited, the test to 0.5KHZ as a starting point, according to the regular method of monitoring the bed of the left and right ear, respectively.
7.3 Visual field, color vision, blood pressure according to the routine clinical methods.

7.6 Occupational contraindications are examined according to routine clinical methods. Electrocardiogram and B-mode ultrasound are limited to those who have symptoms or medical history or those who have no symptoms or medical history but are at least forty years old for men and thirty-five years old for women.

8 assessment principles
8.1 seafarers health conditions: should be in full compliance with the corresponding indicators set out in this standard, there is an indicator does not comply with the person can not serve as a maritime workplace services.
8.2 seafarers whose health conditions do not comply with this standard, when their symptoms disappear or lessen and stabilize in line with the indicators set out in this standard, should be re-assessed by the hospital and its certificate.
Appendix I:
Dark Adaptation Test Methods
1 Determination: dark adaptation time.
2 Determination device: JZA-1 type dark adaptation meter or other equivalent equipment.
3 Determination of points
3.1 in the dark room to turn on the power, test machine normal.
3.2 The subject sits in a sitting position with both eyes looking at the observation hole.
3.3 correctly grasp the requirements of the test, the subject predicted once before moving to the formal test.
3.4 In the standard brightness (2000lx), thirty seconds after the light, record the subject found in the dark box shimmering vision mark of the interval, that is, the dark adaptation to the measured value.
3.5 The test results are based on the average of three times.
