1. The following procedures apply for assistance:
(a) the applicant needs to fill in the examination and approval form for serious illness relief;
(two) the applicant needs to bring the "serious illness relief approval form" and other materials to the local township government or street office to submit an application for serious illness medical assistance;
(three) the applicant is required to submit hospitalization invoices, discharge summary and other materials;
(four) after receiving the materials submitted by the applicant, the relief agency will let the staff review the materials;
(5) If the applicant meets the examination conditions, the relief agency will issue relief funds to the applicant.
2. Legal basis: Article 28 of the Interim Measures for Social Assistance.
The following persons may apply for relevant medical assistance:
(a) the minimum living security family members;
(2) Helpless dependents;
(3) Other persons with special difficulties as stipulated by the people's governments at or above the county level.
Article 29
Medical assistance takes the following forms:
(a) the individual payment part of the basic medical insurance for urban residents or the new rural cooperative medical system;
(two) to subsidize the basic medical expenses that individuals and their families can not afford after the basic medical insurance, serious illness insurance and other supplementary medical insurance are paid. The standard of medical assistance shall be determined and published by the people's governments at or above the county level according to the level of economic and social development and the situation of medical assistance funds.
