In the Provisions on the Medical Treatment Period for Sickness or Non-Work-Related Injury of Employees in Enterprises, when an employee in an institution needs to stop working to receive medical treatment due to sickness or non-work-related injury, the employee will be given a medical treatment period ranging from about three months to twenty-four months, depending on his/her actual number of years of participation in the workforce and his/her cumulative number of years of service in the institution. The specific length of the medical period is determined by the relevant laws and policies as well as the labor contract agreement.
