Is it better to choose PLC or single chip microcomputer

PLC is very easy to use I am also learning PLC recently. The hardware and software structure of PLC is simpler than that of single chip microcomputer. Commonly used PLC is Siemens S7-200, etc. The programming software is STEP7-Micro/WIN. As for the simulation software, you can find it by searching for "S7-200 simulation software" on Baidu, but the software can only support some instructions.
