The difference between cold-shrinkable tube and heat-shrinkable tube

the cold shrinkage tube is the contraction of the extraction support ring, and the heat shrinkage tube is the contraction by heating. The differences between them are as follows:

1. The materials are different, and the cold shrinkable tube is generally made of silicone rubber and EPDM. Heat shrinkable tubes are made of polyolefin materials.

2. The use environment is different. Cold shrinkable tubes are suitable for cable joints where hot work cannot be carried out, and heat sources are needed for heat shrinkable tubes.

3. The cost and price are different. Take the 1 kV intermediate joint as an example, the price of cold-shrinkable accessories is more than five times that of heat-shrinkable accessories.

4. The cold shrinkage tube is easy to operate, and there is little requirement for workers to be familiar with it; Heat shrinkable tube, pay attention to construction skills.

5. Generally, the diameter of cold-shrinkable tube is above 14mm, and the range of heat-shrinkable tube is basically unlimited, ranging from .6mm to 1 meter.

in fact, it doesn't matter whether it's good or bad, it depends on the use environment. If the middle connector of the cable sinks into the water, it must use a rubber heat shrinkable tube.
