What are the uses of artificial stone?

Artificial stone is made of unsaturated polyester resin as binder, natural marble or calcite, dolomite, silica sand, glass powder and other inorganic powders, as well as a proper amount of flame retardant and colorant. It is molded and solidified by mixing ingredients, porcelain casting, vibration compression and extrusion. It has been greatly improved in moisture resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, high temperature resistance, flat-fell seam and so on. Compared with natural stone, artificial stone has the advantages of bright color, high smoothness, uniform color, compression and wear resistance, good toughness, compact structure, firmness and durability, light specific gravity, water absorption, corrosion resistance, weathering resistance, small color difference, colorfastness and low radioactivity.

The naturalness of artificial stone is obviously insufficient, and it is mostly used in places with high practical requirements such as cabinets, but less used in windowsills and floors. At the same time, it has the upper hand in the comprehensive utilization of resources, plays an important role in environmental protection and energy saving, and is also a veritable green building materials product. It has become the first choice of decorative materials for modern architecture.
