Where were the Winter Olympics 2008 held?

The Winter Olympics 2008 were held in Beijing. The 2008 Olympics were held in Beijing, China, with Qingdao taking on some of the water events, such as windsurfing. Hong Kong also took on some of the competitions, such as equestrian. The main venue was the Bird's Nest, and swimming, diving and synchronized swimming were all in the Water Cube. The Water Cube has now been renamed the Ice Cube in order to host the Winter Olympics.

Winter Olympics events added

July 18, 2018, the International Olympic Committee announced that the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics added seven new competitions in small events, and the IOC Executive Board meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, adopted a proposal on the project setup for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The seven new small events are women's single snowmobile, short track speed skating mixed team relay, ski jumping mixed team, freestyle ski jump (men, women), freestyle skiing aerials mixed team and snowboard obstacle pursuit mixed team.
