Very mature painless childbirth technology has a low popularity rate in China
Intervertebral anesthesia is currently the most common method of painless childbirth, that is, the application of continuous epidural anesthesia or lumbar-hard joint anesthesia, the use of ultra-low concentration of local anesthesia compounded with a small dose of opioids for continuous analgesia. The whole operation process is a shot in the back of the mother, leaving a soft thin tube, and then through this thin soft tube connected to the analgesic pump continuous medication, so that the mother in no pain or slight pain to complete the labor process. This technology is a very mature technology, the proportion of painless labor in developed countries reached more than 80%, while the proportion of China is less than 10%.
Painless labor has no effect on the fetus
We are most concerned about whether the drugs used in painless labor will affect the fetus. In fact, the drugs used in painless labor are administered through the intravertebral canal, and the amount of drugs used per unit of time is also very small, only 1/10 of the anesthesia used in cesarean section or even less. The amount of drug absorbed into the maternal bloodstream is also minimal, and the amount of drug that passes through the placental barrier to reach the fetal blood system is even more minimal. Therefore, there is no adverse effect on the health of the fetus.
Will the labor process be affected if the woman is not in pain? There is even less to worry about in this regard. First of all, the contractions are still normal, and the fetus is still being squeezed by the normal birth canal: and then there is no pain, and some of the "bad" hormones in the body that are not good for labor, such as catecholamines, will be reduced.
