The Second Hospital of Shenyang Medical University, affiliated to China Medical University, is a modern large-scale comprehensive and digital teaching hospital with a total construction area of 440,000 square meters. The Shenbei Campus under construction is located on Puhe Avenue in Shenbei New District, Shenyang City, covering an area of 235,000 square meters. The predecessor of the hospital was the first western hospital in Northeast China built by the Church of Scotland in 1883 in Shenyang, that is, Shengjing Shi Hospital; taken over by the China Medical University in 1948, renamed as the Second Hospital Affiliated to the China Medical University; relocated to the Chaoyang area in western Liaoning Province in 1969; moved back to Shenyang one after another in 1978; approved by the higher authorities, merged with the Third Hospital Affiliated to the China Medical University in 1980; called the Second and the Third Hospital Affiliated to the China Medical University. In 1980, with the approval of the higher level and the Third Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, called the Second and Third Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University. 2002 took over the Third Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, the establishment of the glide hospital district; in 2003 on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the founding of the hospital, to restore the name of the "Second Hospital of Shenyang Medical University".
The hospital has 4,799 employees, including 4,124 health professionals and technicians, professors, associate professors, 585; 106 doctoral supervisors, master's supervisors, 236; as the Chinese Medical Association of the national and provincial level, the main and vice president of the Standing Committee of the above 87 academic positions; enjoy the special government subsidies to 43 experts. The hospital has 25 secondary diagnostic and treatment subjects, 62 tertiary diagnostic and treatment subjects, 94 medical and technical departments, 4,368 open beds, annual outpatient and emergency room visits of more than 2,420,000, more than 106,000 discharges, more than 56,000 surgeries, an average of 11 days of hospitalization, and total assets of more than 2.63 billion yuan. The hospital has more than 5,000 sets of various advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment, including the first 256-slice spiral CT in mainland China, the first 3.0T magnetic **** vibration in Northeast China, 64-row CT, PET-CT, X-rays knife, linear gas pedal, 3D-4D color ultrasound, Gamma Knife, and **** focusing fiber electron endoscopy.
