Principle of RV reducer

The transmission device of RV reducer is a closed differential gear train consisting of a first-stage involute cylindrical gear planetary reducer and a second-stage cycloidal pin gear planetary reducer, as shown in Figure 2.2. The driving sun gear 1 is connected with the input shaft. If the involute central wheel 1 rotates clockwise, it will drive the three planetary wheels 2 arranged in 120 to revolve around the central axis and rotate counterclockwise at the same time. The three crankshafts 3 are fixedly connected with the planetary gears 2 and rotate at the same speed. Two cycloidal gears 4 with a phase difference of180 are hinged on three crankshafts. The output mechanism (i.e., the planet carrier) 6 is pushed by three pairs of crankshaft support bearings installed on it, and the rotation vector on the cycloidal gear is transmitted at the speed ratio of 1: 1.
