How to keep a turtle so that it will not die

Now as our living conditions slowly become better, many people are beginning to raise pets. For most people, they still prefer to keep kittens and puppies; there are also some people who do not go out of the ordinary, like to keep some strange pets, such as snakes, lizards, spiders, hamsters, turtles and so on.

Personally, I also keep a turtle, which is a Brazilian turtle from my junior high school, I began to keep, to now have 15 years.

The keeping of a turtle is relatively easy. On the one hand, it's because turtles have a long lifespan, and on the other hand, because turtles are omnivores, it's relatively easy to feed them.

In my personal experience of feeding turtles, I think it is better to use the following methods to feed turtles:

First, to ensure an adequate and varied food supply

Turtles are omnivores, they not only like to eat meat, but also eat vegetables, fruits, and some of the insects that fall into the water. For large turtles, even rats are in their diet.

When I keep a turtle, I like to feed it a variety of foods. Many times fruits, vegetables, shrimp, meat, and some leftovers will be poured into the pool to feed the turtle.

If you are out doing farm work, you will also catch some grasshoppers and crickets to give it a change. Occasionally, rats caught at home will also be included in its recipe.

Two, to ensure sufficient light time

Turtle in the process of growth, need to change the shell, to ensure their normal growth. And in the process of shell changing, the turtle needs to have sufficient light, which is also the reason why the turtle often basks in its shell.

In the process of keeping tortoises, we should let the tortoises bask as much as possible, you can build a high platform in the pool, which will be a very favorite place for tortoises to relax.

In the process of keeping turtles, in addition to the above two points, but also need to ensure that the turtle successfully overwintering. After all, in winter, the temperature is low, and the tortoises will enter a dormant state, which requires timely attention to the state of the tortoises to avoid them from freezing to death.
