How is general medical waste handled?

Medical waste means disposable needles and syringes, disposable plastic trays, various kinds of rubber tubes for infusion and conduction of fluids, gauze and tampons with bacteria, and various kinds of resected materials after patients' surgeries. According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes, the Regulations on the Administration of Medical Substances and the list of hazardous wastes issued by the State Environmental Protection Administration, medical waste belongs to the first category of hazardous wastes. Therefore, the treatment of medical waste should follow the following principles: first, to eliminate pollution and avoid harm; second, to unify the classification of collection and transit; third, to centralize the disposal, ...
