Hamyang, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shaanxi Province, is the location of the origin of China's earth, neighboring the provincial capital of Xi'an to the east, and the state-level Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industrial Demonstration Zone to the west, and bordering Gansu to the northwest. It has three districts, two cities and nine counties, with a total area of 10,196 square kilometers[48]. As of the end of 2021, the resident population of Xianyang City was 4,210,300 people.
Hamyang was the capital of China's first feudal dynasty, the Qin Empire, and is located in the hinterland of the 800-mile Qin River in Shaanxi Province, with the Weishui River running through the south and the Brian Mountains stretching across the north, and the mountains and water are all sunny, so it is called Hamyang. Xianyang is at the beginning of the long river of Chinese history and culture, and is the important birthplace of the Qin and Han cultures.
There are 4,951 cultural relics sites in its territory, and the mausoleums of 28 Han and Tang emperors, including the Changling Mausoleum of Emperor Gaozu of Han, the Yangling Mausoleum of Emperor Jingdi of Han, the Maoling Mausoleum of Emperor Wudi of Han, the Zhaoling Mausoleum of Emperor Taizong of Tang, the Qianling Mausoleum of Emperor Gaozong of Tang and the Qianling Mausoleum of Emperor Wu Zetian of Tang, etc, are stretched out over hundreds of miles in the Wuling Loess. Xianyang nurtured China's farming civilization, and Houji, the founder of agriculture, taught the people harvest here.
