Zhong Zhang, Director of Intel Capital Asia Pacific

Intel Capital has been expanding its venture capital program in China since 1998, investing more than one-third of its investments in Asia. Intel Capital's investments in Chinese companies were initially focused on home hardware and software and service companies. With the rapid development of China's IT industry, Intel Capital has gradually increased its investment in export technology companies. Building a stage for Chinese companies to go global

Relating to other venture capital investments, helping Chinese companies to go international is a unique value-added service of Intel's investment. Dr. Wei Shaojun, CEO of Phoenix Microelectronics, who received Intel's investment in May 2007, has experienced Intel's "unimaginable" international resource advantages. In April this year, Dr. Wei Shaojun in the Intel investment arrangements to go to India to exchange, "we visited some of India's customers, before we do not even dare to think about, and even if you go may not be able to see the key customers. This bridging role is unique to Intel Investments."

Intel Capital's investment map

Dai Weimin, chairman of VeriSilicon Microelectronics, has a "heartfelt" recognition of Intel's investment, which VeriSilicon introduced in its second round of financing in 2005. In fact, the domestic opportunities are good, and some people think I can get some money on my own without venture capital, with no one to supervise me, and I can do it very comfortably, but sometimes it's not just a matter of money. With the help of Intel Investment's global resources, it will bring great help to the company's management and growth." Later, with the help of Intel Investment, VeriSilicon completed its overseas layout and related acquisitions, and staged a scene of "Overseas Raiders", and now the company has set up chip design subsidiaries in Europe, the United States, Japan and other places. Intel has a strong corporate background for the advantages of investment, Wisdom Ventures President Chen Youzhong also expressed his recognition, "Intel investment to bring the entire venture capital industry a demonstration - a high-tech group how to take advantage of its high-tech advantages, the mastery of technology, the future of industry trends Grasp, including the existing product line, customer relations, and distributors, to help these invested companies to develop and grow rapidly."

Intel Investments has also become a willing partner for many domestic VCs because of its leadership in technology and markets. "Our involvement builds a confidence in the industry that we are evaluating, making decisions in a way that is consistent with the industry, and we are careful to build a reputation and protect it well."

Intel Capital, which has invested in more than 80 companies in the Chinese market, basically maintains a balanced layout, with about one-third of its investments in early-stage, one-third in growth-stage companies and one-third in late-stage. Compared to many independent VC funds, are forced by market risks and pressures, often choosing projects with shorter return periods. Zhang Zhong analyzed, "We are not a fund, but an investment institution with a corporate background, without the pressure of a fund. We have a long-term commitment to the Chinese market." Undoubtedly, Intel Investment is helping more Chinese companies to swim to the other side of the shore of success.
