GB31241 Testing Product Scope

GB 31241-2014 Safety Requirements for Lithium-Ion Batteries and Battery Packs Used in Portable Electronic Products

The GB31241 standard applies to lithium-ion batteries and battery packs used in portable electronic products, and it is mainly aimed at those which are not more than 18KG. The main examples are as follows:

1. Portable office products: notebook computers, PDAs, etc.

2. Mobile communication products: cellular phones, cordless phones, Bluetooth headsets, walkie-talkies, etc.

3. Portable audio/video products: portable televisions, portable DVD players, MP3/MP4 players, cameras, Bluetooth headsets, walkie-talkies, etc.

3. Portable audio/video products: portable televisions, portable DVD players, MP3/MP4 players, cameras, Bluetooth headsets, walkie-talkies, etc.

4. MP4 players, cameras, camcorders, audio recorders, etc.

4. Other portable products: electronic navigators, digital photo frames, game consoles, e-books, etc.

The above mentioned products have been widely recognized by the market.

The portable electronic products listed above does not include all products, so the products not listed are not necessarily outside the scope of this standard.

GB31241 test sample size requirements

1. 27 samples of the main battery, 14 samples of the incidental test;

2. 33 samples of the main battery pack, 17 samples of the incidental test;

3. For their own protection circuit does not come with the battery pack, but in its charger or by the power supply of the electronic products in the Batteries and battery packs with protection circuits, should also send at least five electronic products powered by the battery or battery pack.
