Regulations on the Management of Medical Wastes Article 1 In order to strengthen the safety management of medical wastes, prevent the spread of diseases, protect the environment and safeguard human health, these regulations are formulated in accordance with the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases and the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes. "Regulations on the Management of Medical Wastes" Article 2 The medical wastes mentioned in these regulations refer to wastes that are directly or indirectly infectious, toxic and other harmful in medical treatment, prevention, health care and other related activities. The classified catalogue of medical wastes is jointly formulated and published by the health administrative department and the environmental protection administrative department of the State Council.
