Non-checked baggage (free carry-on items)
Non-checked baggage should be of such size that it can be placed under the passenger's front seat or in the enclosed luggage rack.
A. The weight of free carry-on items is limited to 8 kg for each first class and business class passenger and 5 kg (11 lbs) for each economy class passenger;
B. Passengers holding first class and business class tickets are allowed to carry two items per person;
Passengers holding economy class tickets are allowed to carry one item per person. The length, width and height of each carry-on item shall not exceed 55CM (21 inches), 40CM (15 inches) and 20CM (7 inches) respectively;
C. Items exceeding the above limits of weight, number of pieces and volume shall be checked as checked baggage.
Economy class baggage free check-in regulations
On the routes where weight-based baggage transportation is implemented, the free check-in baggage allowance for passengers holding adult or child tickets is 20 kilograms (44 pounds)
Business class and first class baggage regulations
On the routes where weight-based baggage transportation is implemented, the free check-in baggage allowance for passengers holding adult or child tickets is 40 kilograms (44 pounds) for first class passengers. The free checked baggage allowance is 40 kg (88 lbs) for first class and 30 kg (66 lbs) for business class.
Platinum card members' free baggage regulations
On the routes of weight-based baggage transportation, regardless of the class of tickets purchased, Platinum card members can add 30 kilograms of free baggage on top of the free baggage allowance of the original class
Golden card members' free baggage regulations
On the routes of weight-based baggage transportation, regardless of the class of tickets purchased, Gold card members can add 30 kilograms of free baggage to the free baggage allowance of the original class. On the routes of weight-based baggage transportation, regardless of the class of air ticket purchased, the free baggage allowance of Silver Card members will be increased by 20 kg on top of the free baggage allowance of the original class of air ticket.
Free Checked Baggage Provisions for Silver Card Members
On the routes of weight-based baggage transportation, regardless of the class of air ticket purchased, the free baggage allowance of Silver Card members will be increased by 20 kg on top of the free baggage allowance of the original class.

On the routes where the weight-based baggage transportation system is implemented, the free check-in baggage allowance is 10 kilograms (22 pounds).
If cabin space permits, and with the consent of the flight attendant, a folding stroller or bassinet can be checked in free of charge.
Overweight baggage
Overweight baggage rate is calculated at 1.5% per kilogram of the published one-way, non-stop, economy class (Y class) adult fare from origin to destination (in the currency of the country or region where the overweight baggage ticket is issued). If there is no published direct fare, the calculation will be based on the method of adding up the segments
Volume and weight limitations of checked baggage
On weight-counting routes, the maximum weight of each piece of checked baggage of a passenger traveling on an international or regional flight shall not exceed 32 kilograms; for passengers traveling on an international or regional flight with domestic intermodal transportation, the maximum weight of each piece of checked baggage shall not exceed 32 kilograms; for passengers traveling on a domestic flight, the maximum weight of each piece of checked baggage shall not exceed 32 kilograms. The maximum weight of each piece of checked baggage for passengers traveling on domestic flights shall not exceed 50 kilograms.
The length, width and height of each piece of checked baggage shall not exceed 100 centimeters, 60 centimeters and 40 centimeters. Baggage exceeding the size or weight shall be transported as cargo.
The minimum weight of each piece of checked baggage shall not be less than 2 kilograms, and its length, width and height shall not be less than 30 centimeters, 20 centimeters and 10 centimeters respectively.
Checked baggage packaging
Checked baggage should be properly packaged and secured to ensure that it can withstand a certain amount of pressure, and can be safely unloaded and transported under normal operating conditions. The packing of checked baggage should also comply with the following regulations:
The suitcases, travel bags and handbags should be locked to avoid theft.
Two or more duffel bags should not be bundled into one.
Extra items should not be stuffed into checked bags.
Bamboo baskets, mesh bags, ropes, straw bags and plastic bags must not be wrapped around the baggage.
Passenger's name, specific address and telephone number should be written on the inside and outside of the bag.
Items not permitted to be checked as checked baggage or to be carried in checked baggage
The following items are not permitted to be placed in or carried in your checked baggage. Air China shall be liable for the loss of or damage to any of the following items placed or enclosed in checked baggage as normal checked baggage.
Cash, valuable tickets, jewelry, precious metals and their products, antiques and paintings, computers, personal electronic equipment, samples and other valuables, fragile or perishable items, perishable items, lithium batteries, important documents and information, travel documents and other items, as well as prescription medications that you need to take regularly.
The sum of the three sides does not exceed 158 centimeters (62 inches)
