The Excimer Laser Treatment Center of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University mainly carries out excimer laser refractive corneal surgery and crystalline lens implantation to correct all kinds of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, and serves patients with all kinds of refractive errors who wish to get rid of their glasses.
The center is the first to perform excimer laser surgery for refractive errors in China. The surgeons who operate on you are all experienced specialists and professors who specialize in correcting various types of refractive errors and have completed more than 60,000 refractive surgeries for myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
The center was the first in the world to propose the corneal safety limit parameters for LASIK surgery, which were internationally recognized (1995); it was also the first in the world to create the subflap flushing technique (1995); it was the drafting unit of the excimer laser surgery operation standards of the Ministry of Health (1998); it has been the national consulting center for the difficult cases of excimer laser surgery (1994 to present); and it is the only one in China in the field of excimer laser surgery. So far the only unit in the field of excimer laser in China to have won the National Science and Technology Progress Award (1999); the first unit in China to perform coordinated surgical treatment of pediatric refractive error with congenital amblyopia using excimer laser (1997).
The center always takes "quality as the center" and strives to make patients see clearly, comfortably and permanently after surgery. We have introduced a series of international advanced equipments, such as American Dr. Technolas 217z excimer laser refractive correction system, Orbscan anterior eye segment diagnostic analysis system, Hansatome corneal laminar knife and Carl Zeiss Mel80 excimer laser refractive correction system, etc., and we were the first one to carry out the excimer laser individualization and cutting surgery in 2002 in China, so that the patients can get better and better vision. In 2002, we were the first company in China to carry out individualized excimer laser cutting surgery, so that patients can get better visual quality.
Patients need to go through a series of strict screening before surgery, and only those who meet the conditions for surgery can receive the surgery. The surgery takes about 20 minutes, during which patients do not feel any obvious discomfort, and there is no need to be hospitalized after the surgery, and they can only return to the hospital for follow-up.
