How to draw a flow chart How to use visio to draw a flow chart

Using visio, you can easily draw flow charts. Taking the drawing of the "purchasing process" - purchase application, purchase approval, purchase order, and purchase warehousing as an example, we will introduce the basic operation methods of visio:

1. Open Visio, click "Flowchart" in the "Template Category" on the left, double-click "Basic Flowchart" in the middle to enter the workspace;

2. On the left, you can see some shapes, such as processes, judgments, documents, data, etc. Click "Process", drag it to the work area, release the mouse, and enter the text: Purchase Requisition. Scale the window to a suitable size for easy viewing.

3. Click the "Judgment" shape on the left and return the mouse to the work area. Be careful not to drag. Move the mouse to the "Purchase Requisition" flow chart, and you can see the "arrows" in four directions. Click the downward arrow, and a "Judgment" shape will automatically appear under the "Purchase Requisition". Enter the text: Purchase approval. Click on the blank workspace to see the effect.

4. Click the shape "Document" on the left, move the mouse to the "Purchase Approval" flow chart, in the same way, click the downward "arrow", and then the "Purchase Approval" will appear. A "Document" shape is automatically added below and the text is entered: Purchase Order. Click on the blank workspace.

5. Click the shape "Process" on the left, move the mouse to the "Purchase Order" flow chart, in the same way, click the downward "arrow", and then the "Purchase Order" will appear. A "Process" shape is automatically added below, and the text is entered: Procurement and warehousing. Click on the blank workspace.

6. In this way, the four basic flow charts are drawn. Use ctrl A to select them all. Next, you can adjust the font and size of the text, the position and size of the flow chart, the border thickness of the flow chart, etc. . These functions have shortcut tools on them, and you will understand them after a little exploration.

7. When drawing a flow chart, another thing to note is: when a process does not flow downward, a return process needs to be made, which requires a "dynamic connecting line", such as procurement approval If the link is not approved, a line needs to be drawn between "Purchase Approval" and "Purchase Requisition". You can enter text on the connection line: "No". After completion, it will look like the picture below:
