First, is it necessary to have a premarital examination?
Not necessarily. At present, China has abolished compulsory premarital examination in registered marriages. Newcomers who don't want to have a premarital examination can go directly to the marriage registration office to register and get a certificate.
According to the old regulations, in places where premarital examination is carried out, the parties applying for marriage must go to the designated medical and health institutions for examination and submit inspection certificates to the marriage registration authority. In the process of implementing the premarital examination system, because the "diseases that medical doctors think should not be married" stipulated in the marriage law are not clearly defined, this brings two problems:
1. According to the inspection results issued by the premarital examination institution, the marriage registration authority can't determine whether the parties have diseases unsuitable for marriage and whether they can register.
2. Because the examination is not targeted, there are many problems in the premarital examination, such as many examination items and high fees, which are strongly reflected by the masses. Therefore, it is not appropriate to hold a pre-marital medical examination certificate as a necessary condition for marriage registration at present when the diseases that are not suitable for marriage in medicine are not clear. However, considering the health of both parties, they can voluntarily go to the hospital for physical examination.
Second, the premarital examination project
Premarital physical examination items mainly include the following contents:
1, blood relationship
I believe many people also know that consanguineous marriage will bring a series of problems to children, so it is very important to check whether there is blood relationship between men and women. If the blood relationship between the two parties is too close, marriage is not allowed.
Step 2 be healthy
In fact, premarital examination is mainly to check the physical health of both men and women, whether there are special diseases, and to understand the medical history of both sides, such as sexually transmitted diseases, leprosy, mental illness, infectious diseases, genetic diseases and so on. This is mainly to prevent men and women from getting married rashly without knowing each other's health status, leading to problems after marriage.
3. Family calendar
In addition to the health status of both men and women, we should also ask about the family history of genetic diseases of both sides. After all, some genetic diseases are recessive and can only be known by physical examination. Therefore, through premarital examination, the probability of hereditary diseases of children after marriage can be avoided.
4, reproductive organs
This examination is mainly to check whether there are problems with the reproductive organs of both parties, such as whether women have hymen atresia, absence of vagina, uterine dysplasia, etc., while men need to pay attention to whether there are problems such as short penis and varicocele that affect their married life and fertility.
So we can know that premarital examination is unnecessary. In China, premarital check-ups are voluntary, and couples can choose whether to have premarital check-ups according to their own needs.
