Each tire, including the spare tire (if provided), should be inspected monthly when cold and inflated to the pressure recommended by the vehicle manufacturer on the vehicle placard or tire inflation pressure label. (If your vehicle's tires are different sizes than those indicated on the vehicle placard or tire pressure label, you will need to determine the correct inflation pressure for those tires yourself.) As an additional safety measure, your vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system ( TPMS), the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate when one or more tires are significantly low. Accordingly, when the low tire pressure warning light comes on, you should stop the vehicle as soon as possible, check the tires, and then inflate them to normal pressure. Driving with significantly insufficient tire pressure can lead to tire overheating and tire failure. Low pressure also reduces fuel efficiency and tread life, and affects the vehicle's handling and braking performance.
Please note that TPMS does not replace normal tire maintenance and it is the driver's responsibility to maintain correct tire pressure, even if the pressure is not low enough to trigger the TPMS low tire pressure warning light to illuminate.
This vehicle is also equipped with a TPMS fault indicator light, which lights up when the system is not working properly. TPMS fault indicator light combined with low tire pressure warning light. When the system detects a fault, the indicator light will flash for about 1 minute and then stay on. As long as the fault persists, this phenomenon will continue to occur when the vehicle is subsequently started. When the malfunction indicator light comes on, the system may not be able to properly detect or notify of low tire pressure. A TPMS can malfunction for a number of reasons, including installing replacement tires or tire or vehicle rotation, which can cause the TPMS to not function properly. After replacing one or more tires or wheels on your vehicle, be sure to check the TPMS malfunction indicator light to ensure that the replaced or rotated tires and wheels will allow the TPMS to continue functioning properly.
Other information
●Since the spare tire is not equipped with TPMS, the TPMS cannot monitor the tire pressure of the spare tire.
●TPMS is only activated when the vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h (16mPH). At the same time, the system may not be able to detect a sudden drop in tire pressure (such as a puncture while driving).
●When adjusting tire pressure, the low tire pressure warning light will not automatically go out. After the tires are inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at a speed above 25 km/h (16mPH) to activate the TPMS and extinguish the low tire pressure warning light. Check tire pressure using a tire pressure gauge.
●When the low tire pressure warning light is on and low tire pressure is detected, the warning "Low tire pressure, please inflate" appears on the vehicle information display. When the low tire pressure warning light goes out, the "Low tire pressure please inflate" warning turns off. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on to indicate a TPMS malfunction, the "Low tire pressure please inflate" warning does not appear.
●Tire pressure rises and falls based on the heat generated by vehicle driving and the outside temperature. Do not lower tire pressure after driving as tire pressure will increase after driving. Low outside temperatures will lower the air temperature inside the tires, causing tire pressure to drop. This causes the low tire pressure warning light to illuminate. If the warning light comes on in cold temperatures, check the tire pressure in all four tires.
●You can also check the pressure of all tires (except the spare tire) on the vehicle information display (if equipped). The tire pressure map displayed on the screen is in the same order as the actual tire position.
Special attention should be paid to the following:
●Radio waves can have adverse effects on electronic medical equipment. Passengers with pacemakers should consult the electronic medical device manufacturer before use to determine whether they may be affected.
●If the low tire pressure warning light comes on while driving, you should avoid sudden turns or emergency braking, reduce your vehicle speed, drive off the road as soon as possible to a safe location and stop. It may cause serious damage to the vehicle and cause an accident, resulting in serious personal injury. Check the tire pressure on all four tires. Adjust tire pressure to the recommended COLD tire pressure indicated on the tire placard to extinguish the low tire pressure warning light. After adjusting the tire pressure, if the light is still on while driving, there may be a tire leak or a TPMS failure. If a tire gets a flat tire, replace the spare tire as soon as possible. If there are no flat tires and all tires are properly inflated, go to a Dongfeng NISSAN store to have the vehicle inspected.
●Since the spare tire is not equipped with TPMS, when the spare tire is installed or the wheel is replaced, the TPMS will not work and the low tire pressure warning light will flash for about 1 minute. The warning light will remain on after 1 minute. Please contact a Dongfeng NISSAN store as soon as possible to replace tires and/or reset the system.
●Replacement of tires not originally specified by NISSAN will affect the normal operation of the TPMS.
●Do not inject any tire fluid or tire aerosol sealant into the tires as this may cause tire pressure sensor failure.
●TPMS may not work properly when the wheels are equipped with tire chains or the wheels are buried in snow.
●Do not install metal films or any metal parts (antennas, etc.) on car windows. Failure to do so may result in poor signal reception from the tire pressure sensor and the TPMS will not function properly.
Certain devices and transmitters can temporarily interfere with the operation of the TPMS and cause the low tire pressure warning light to illuminate. These situations include:
●There are equipment or electronic devices using similar radio frequencies near the vehicle.
●Use a transmitter with a similar frequency in or near the vehicle.
●Use a computer (or similar device) or DC/AC converter in or near the vehicle.
The low tire pressure warning light may illuminate under the following conditions.
●If the vehicle is equipped with wheels and tires without TPMS.
●If the TPMS has been replaced and the ID has not been registered.
●If the wheel is not the wheel originally specified by NISSAN.
