Frankly speaking, when ASUS came to the mainland in 1999, it was relatively late compared to other companies. So speaking here many friends say, five years why the Games? In fact, running is not only to see who starts early, but also to see who runs fast, run faster in order to be in front of the more. 1999 when we came, we first rented factory buildings, that is the birthplace of ASUS in Suzhou, we still retained to do the warehouse use, it is rented. 2000 we began to set up the ASUS Technology Park. The entire site of ASUS Technology Park is 540,000 square meters, nearly 900 acres or so. Because of the large area, there is no way to develop all of it at once, and it is being implemented in phases.
The first phase of the park consists of intermediate support facilities, including a training center, and mainly three factories. The first factory is basically in March 2000 to start construction, half a year later put into use, covers an area of 40,000 square meters. It is mainly used for motherboard production. The second factory is the system factory, the system factory part I think its composition is more special, the first floor of this factory is the heavy metal area, do large stamping machine, chassis. The third factory is the board factory, which includes presses, drilling machines and so on. It was most expected that it would take ten years at the earliest for the first phase to be developed, but it turned out to be much faster than expected, and in less than two years we started the development of the second phase, which is the current plants No. 5 and No. 6. The No. 5 plant mainly does the coupler and stamping part, and some wireless products are currently manufactured here, in a building of about 40,000 square meters. But this is actually not the biggest, the biggest is our internal ASUSTeK II plant. This plant has about 120,000 square meters and has a lot of firsts in numbers. First of all, it has 18,000 people working in it, and that size is spectacular. Sometimes I joke that that plant eats tons of apples a day. Not only is it a large number of people and a large site, it also has a very high output value, with an annual output value of at least three billion dollars or more. Than the entire output value of many domestic development zones combined are larger. I think this plant will have a great impact not only on ASUS itself, but also on the economy of Suzhou and Jiangsu Province. Currently, optical drives and laptops are located here. The next three phases of development, which are currently underway, include training dormitories and a logistics center that will be completed next month. The logistics center has introduced a very advanced management model, and the headquarter has also sent people to conduct research, which is also a demonstration point. In addition, there are some new parts of the expansion.
Next, I would like to introduce ASUSTeK Computer. Because ASUSTeK Computer is the earliest established and the largest factory. Many of ASUS' most important products are manufactured here. Currently ASUS Suzhou established these five enterprises *** has more than 33,000 employees. I remember when I first came here four or five years ago, there were only 300 people in the company. At that time I wanted to make the company through their own efforts to achieve the scale of 3,000 people, is the original ten times, but did not think that today has become more than 30,000 people, more than I imagined to be more than ten times out. The earliest establishment of Meishuo is about 27,000-28,000 people.
ASUSTeK now occupies an area of 160,000 square meters in the Park, with an investment of 280 million US dollars. ASUSTeK was established at the end of 1999, and the first full year was 2000. The first full year was 2000, and in 2000, we exported about 300 million dollars, and in 2001, we exported about 800 million dollars in the second year. In the third year, we have reached nearly 2.4 billion dollars. This 2.4 billion dollars in Jiangsu and Suzhou has ranked first. The whole country ranked eighth. Last year, this is a rough estimate according to the current export customs. We imported and exported 68 billion dollars. I think Jiangsu and Suzhou will continue to rank first. Even from Jiangsu Province, more than the second and third combined. The whole country is currently ranked fifth. This year, the chairman of the board of directors hopes that we can break through 10 billion dollars. Only in 2001, 2002, IT products are not very good, we still maintain a times the speed of growth.
ASUSTeK was founded three years ago, the import and export volume has been ranked first in Jiangsu Province, the country's fifth. At present, ASUSTeK computers basically produce quasi-system products. In the whole park other production like circuit boards, connectors, stamping lines, etc. are provided to it as raw materials, and then, it can also produce products like motherboards, multimedia including optical drives, graphics cards this, quasi-systems, host computers, notebook computers, and information home appliances products including communication products. Almost all of ASUS's products can be produced. What I just said is basically an overview of the ASUS production base.
In addition to providing ASUS' own products, at present, as long as one can imagine the major IT manufacturers are basically our OEM customers. Therefore, in addition to being rooted in China, the Suzhou plant is more importantly oriented to the world. In this regard, I would like to thank you very much for your support.
