Can a retired hospitalized deputy director be admitted to a veteran's ward?

Yes, you can.

You can stay in a single room ward, but you can't enjoy the medical treatment of the deputy provincial level.

Article 94 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Civil Servants of the People's Republic of China*** and the People's Republic of China, after the retirement of civil servants, they shall enjoy the pensions and other entitlements stipulated by the state, and the state shall provide them with the necessary services and assistance for their life and health, and encourage them to give full play to their individual specialties and participate in the development of society.

Article 5 of the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People's Congress on Approving the Provisional Provisions of the State Council on the Separation of Old Cadres from the Government for Rest and Recuperation: After cadres have retired from the government, the original standard salary (including retained salary) shall be paid as usual, and the welfare benefits shall remain unchanged.
