Business Scope of the Chinese Red Cross Foundation

The Chinese Red Cross Foundation (CRCF) mainly implements two series of public welfare projects: the Red Cross Angel Program in the field of medical care, and the Bo'ai Educational Assistance Program in the field of education. In order to fulfill its purpose and mission, since August 2005 the Chinese Red Cross Foundation has focused on promoting a large-scale social welfare project in the medical and healthcare field, the Red Cross Angel Program, which is aimed at farmers in impoverished areas and migrant workers in urban areas. The aim of the program is to focus on the lives and health of farmers and migrant workers, mobilize international and domestic social resources, and set up China's first Red Cross Angel Fund, which will use the funds and medical supplies it raises to provide medical assistance to poor farmers in rural areas and migrant workers suffering from major diseases (including infectious diseases, endemic diseases, and occupational diseases). The fund provides medical assistance to poor rural farmers and urban migrant workers suffering from major diseases (including infectious and endemic diseases and occupational diseases), assists the government in improving medical and health conditions in poor rural areas, and donates funds to build Red Cross Angel Hospitals.

Over the past few years, the program has made significant progress in raising funds and providing subsidies for more than a dozen diseases, including leukemia, congenital heart disease, cerebral palsy, progressive muscular dystrophy, cleft lip and palate, blindness, deafness, cancer, heart disease, and urban sub-health.

Chenzhou Star Village in Hunan Province is the first stop of the volunteer medical activity organized by Sinochem International and local Red Cross organizations, which focuses on left-behind children in rural areas, and will be followed by 17 Sinochem International Boai Health Stations in nine provinces, including Hubei and Guizhou. Since 2009, Sinochem International has been promoting the large-scale social welfare project "Red Cross Angel Program" together with the China Red Cross Foundation, contributing to the improvement of medical and healthcare infrastructure in poor rural areas and solving the difficulties of farmers in accessing medical services. Sinochem International has donated 17 Boai Health Stations in poor rural areas of Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui and Guizhou provinces, equipped with commonly used medicines, medical devices and medical equipment, solving the problem of local villagers having to go to county and township hospitals for medical treatment of headaches and fever, benefiting nearly 100,000 farmers.
