Cultivation Objectives
Medical English major training has a solid foundation in English language, rich medical knowledge base and broad cultural knowledge, and can skillfully use English in medicine, foreign affairs, education, trade, culture, science and technology departments engaged in translation, teaching, management, research and other work of the composite English professionals. Academic System and Degree
The academic system of the Medical English Program is four years, divided into two stages: the basic stage (first and second years) and the senior stage (third and fourth years). The main teaching task of the basic stage is to teach the basic knowledge of English and the fundamentals of medicine, to provide students with comprehensive and rigorous training in basic skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), and to cultivate students' ability to practically apply the language. The main teaching task of the senior year is to continue to lay a good foundation of language, learn the specialized knowledge of English, clinical medicine and other related professional knowledge, and improve the ability to comprehensively use English for communication. Students will be awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree after they have completed the entire academic program in four years and passed the exams, which is in accordance with the relevant regulations of the school's graduation.
