Is it necessary to install a gas alarm in the spray booth?

As we all know, there are often some flammable and explosive gases in the painting room, such as toluene, xylene, gasoline, trichloroethylene and other flammable solvents, and the temperature in the painting room and some electrical products provide favorable conditions for these gases to be flammable and explosive. Therefore, we must install a combustible gas alarm in the painting room to detect the concentration of these flammable and explosive gases in the air.

First, flammable gases often appear in paint production workshops. The solvents contain flammable solvents such as toluene, xylene, gasoline and trichloroethylene, which are easily volatilized into the air to form explosive mixed gases. The high-voltage static electricity generated during electrostatic spraying and the open flame heat source used for heating during drying all hide great fire hazards. Automobile painting workshop should be equipped with combustible gas alarm and exhaust device, and the exhaust fan adopts non-ferrous metal impeller to facilitate the timely discharge of combustible gas. Pressure relief devices and indoor electrical equipment shall meet I (Q-2) fire protection requirements. At the same time, anti-static work should be done seriously, equipment such as spray guns should be grounded, and operators should wear anti-static shoes. The spraying speed, the working pressure of the spray gun and the distance between the workpiece and the nozzle should be controlled during operation.

Second: car painting room. The painted workpiece should be placed in a ventilated place for a period of time, and then put into a drying device for drying after the paint drops fall behind. The spray booth should be equipped with automatic temperature control, alarm, over-temperature automatic power failure and other devices. The box should be well ventilated, and the waste gas should be discharged at one time. The baking temperature is generally kept within 70 degrees. When using infrared radiation to dry the silicon carbide plate, it is not allowed to damage the silicon carbide plate, and it is strictly forbidden to expose the resistance wire. A safe distance of more than 100 mm should be kept between the silicon carbide plate and the workpiece in the furnace, and it is best to install an organic waste gas purification device to reduce the concentration of combustible gas. When drying naturally, a well-ventilated environment should be selected, the temperature should be kept at 15 ~ 30 degrees, and the relative humidity should not be greater than 80%.

The combustible gas alarm installed in the painting room can effectively detect the concentration of combustible gas in the painting room. When the concentration of the detected gas in the air reaches or exceeds the set alarm point (25%LEL), the alarm host immediately sends out an audible and visual alarm to display the concentration value and remind users to take safety measures.
