Nanchong frigate is a type 65 frigate No.3 built by China in 1960s. The ship is equipped with three 100 mm single-barrel naval guns, driven by two 3300 HP diesel engines, and propelled by two shafts, with a standard displacement of 1 140 tons and a maximum range of 2700 nautical miles. All the materials and equipment used on board were made in China and stood the test of typhoon 12.
Nanchong frigate 1969 entered service and 1995 retired. This ship participated in 1974 Xisha self-defense counterattack and 1988 South China Sea "3. 14" naval battle, and it is a meritorious warship of China Navy. 20 12 10, Nanchong frigate was moved from Qingdao to a recycling station in Qinhuangdao for dismantling due to its old hull, difficult maintenance and many potential safety hazards.

The 502 Nanchong frigate (232, 1980, the original Chord frigate was changed to 502) and the 65 (Jiangnan class) artillery frigate started construction in Guangzhou shipyard in May 1969, and/kloc-0 entered service in the South China Sea Fleet in June/995.
In the Xisha self-defense counterattack of 1974, frigate 232 undertook the task of transporting materials and personnel. 1988 On March 14, the Vietnamese frigate No.604 was sunk in the naval battle of Chigua Reef in Nansha Islands.
