It refers to the organization, execution and evaluation of tests performed by two or more laboratories under pre-specified conditions for the same or similar articles under test.
Extended Information
Corrective Activity Procedures
Corrective Activity for Inter-Room Quality AssessmentLaboratories with unsatisfactory results (outliers) in EQA activities should follow the EQA corrective activity requirements. The procedure is as follows:
The laboratory is required to find and analyze the reasons for the unsatisfactory results as soon as possible, carry out effective corrective activities, and keep a detailed corrective report in writing. Effective corrective activities include control of relevant elements of the quality system, analysis of technical competence, as well as the conduct of relevant tests and the effective use of feedback information.
Evaluation Requirements
There are three basic requirements for laboratories participating in EQA:
1) a clearly defined responsibility to ensure participation in interlaboratory quality assessment activities;
2) a documented procedure for participation in the activity;
3) implementation of the procedure and provision of a record evidencing participation in the activity and the effective use of the EQA results. If necessary, supporting information on corrective activities taken when unsatisfactory results occur shall be provided.
