What is meant by lumbar disc herniation?

The lumbar disc exists in the lumbar spine between the vertebrae, for the lumbar spine joints for the component parts of the lumbar spine, the lumbar spine vertebrae play a supportive, connecting and buffering role, it is shaped like a flattened abacus bead, by the nucleus pulposus, cartilaginous plate, the fibrous ring of the three parts of the nucleus pulposus. When the annulus fibrosus bulges back or breaks due to trauma or degeneration, and the nucleus pulposus comes out, it is called a lumbar disc herniation. As the spinal cord passes through the back of the disc, when the protruding disc compresses the spinal nerve or the cauda equina nerve, causing lumbar and leg pain or incontinence, or even causing paralysis, it is called lumbar disc herniation.

When you bend over to get something or no obvious cause of lumbar pain leading to leg pain, lifting the leg there is obvious pull-like radioactive pain, you may have suffered from lumbar disc herniation, you should immediately go to the hospital to do a CT or magnetic **** vibration examination, in order to early diagnosis, to prevent the condition from worsening.

Acute sprains, chronic strain, excessive weight bearing, and lumbar puncture, long-term vibration and other causes may lead to lumbar disc herniation.

The current treatment of lumbar disc herniation mainly consists of three kinds of conservative treatment, limited surgical treatment and surgical treatment:

Conservative treatment includes traditional Chinese medicine, traction, massage, acupuncture, physiotherapy, closure, and compresses. This kind of therapy is safe and reliable, but has the disadvantage of slow effect and incomplete treatment.

Limited surgery are: percutaneous puncture myelotomy (in the X-ray under the supervision of the nucleus pulposus will be drilled and sucked out), collagenase chemical solution (in the X-ray under the supervision of the nucleus pulposus with collagenase solution) two. These two methods, if you can choose the indications, symptomatic treatment, often can receive immediate results, but there are fewer indications of the shortcomings. Surgery: after conservative treatment for more than three months ineffective, and severe pain intolerable, unable to work and study, should consider surgical treatment, such as successful surgery can quickly relieve the symptoms, but accompanied by a certain degree of injury and risk
