Xi'an Higher Institute of Medical Sciences (XHIMS) is a full-time general higher institute of higher education approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The school is located in Qindu Town, Xi'an City, covering an area of 783 acres, with a building area of about 424,000 square meters and more than 15,000 students. The school has been identified as the National Health Occupational Skills Testing Station, the National Training Base for Shortage Talents, the first pilot colleges and universities of the National Excellence in Clinical Medicine (3+2) Training Program for Doctors, the Model Higher Vocational Colleges and Universities of Shaanxi Province, and the Double First-Class College Construction Unit of Shaanxi Province.
Specialties
The school offers nursing, clinical medicine, stomatology, pharmacy, medical testing technology, medical imaging technology, midwifery, rehabilitation therapy technology and other specialties. Among them, nursing and stomatology are the key professions for higher vocational education in Shaanxi Province; pharmacy has been set up as a first-class professional construction project at the provincial level; stomatology and medical testing technology have been set up as first-class professional cultivation projects at the provincial level; and nursing (geriatrics) has been identified as the "first batch of demonstration professional points of nursing service in vocational colleges and universities across the country". It is currently one of only two institutions in Shaanxi Province.
