Uses of Drones

Uses of Drones:Delivery, Emergency Rescue, Wildlife and Historical Conservation, Rescue Operations in Natural Disaster Areas, Medicine.

1. Delivery, Delivery drones are usually automated unmanned drones that are used to transport food, packages or goods to your doorstep. These craft are called "last mile" delivery drones because they are used to make deliveries from a nearby store or warehouse. These drones can deliver up to 55 pounds of goods to your front door without you having to leave your home.

2. Emergency rescue, sometimes it's not safe enough to send people into rescue due to the scope or severity of the disaster. That's where drones come in. If a boat capsizes or drowns, officials can throw an automated underwater vehicle (AUV) into the water to aid in the rescue. In the event of an avalanche, drones are deployed to find people trapped by snow.

3. Wildlife and Historic Preservation, It is nearly impossible for humans on the ground to track wildlife populations. With a wide field of view, wildlife conservationists can track roaming fauna, from orangutans in Borneo to bison in the Great Plains, to better understand the health of their species and ecosystems. Conservation drones are also the perfect tool to combat poaching in Asia and Africa.

4. Rescue operations in natural disaster areas, where they can use thermal imaging cameras to scan affected areas for missing persons. Their reduced size allows them to reach hard-to-reach places and locate isolated people; they can also deliver food and water to survivors.

5. Medicine, drones are now being used to deliver emergency medical supplies and goods to off-grid communities in rural Alaska. Instead of relying on dog sleds, snowmobiles that can't make it down to the snow or ambulances, Alaskans are relying on drones to quickly access medical supplies that can save lives.
