This comprehensive strength evaluation of the nation's cities was organized by the National Bureau of Statistics' urban social and economic survey team, the China Center for Monitoring of Economic Conditions, and China Information News Agency. Monitoring Center, China Information News Agency and other authoritative statistical agencies, is undoubtedly the most authoritative, the most scientific evaluation. Judging from the indicators, methods, sources of information and evaluation results of the Top 100 Cities, each indicator is calculated through quantitative weighting, eliminating the human factor and reflecting the scientific nature; all the 286 cities above prefecture level in the country participate in the evaluation, with no less than one of them, reflecting the comprehensiveness; the adoption of the data has a stable and reliable source and a complete review and control method, and the data are real and credible, reflecting the objectivity; at the same time, the evaluation is conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Urban Socio-Economic Survey Team. At the same time, the evaluation was conducted under the leadership of specialized institutions such as the General Team of Urban Socio-Economic Survey of the National Bureau of Statistics, which has irrefutable authority. The evaluation index system includes five first-level subsystems:

(1) Population and labor force: three second-level subsystems including population scale, quality and structure, management and utilization, with five indicators;

(2) Economic development: four second-level subsystems including economic scale, economic structure, economic development, and economic efficiency, with 12 indicators;

(3) Economic development: four second-level subsystems including economic scale, economic structure, economic development, and economic efficiency, with 12 indicators;

(4) Economic development: four second-level subsystems including economic scale, economic structure, economic development, and economic efficiency, with 12 indicators. (3) Social development: including income and consumption level of residents, housing and medical services, science and technology, education and culture, social security, social security, with 16 indicators;

(4) Infrastructure: including transportation, communication, water supply and drainage, and electricity, with 8 indicators;

(5) Environment: including 4 secondary subsystems of population density, investment, waste disposal and greening, with 9 indicators under it.

From the above indicator system, there are total indicators to reflect the "scale" that is, the overall strength; there are also per capita indicators to reflect the "efficiency" that is, the degree of realization of inputs and outputs. Such evaluation can show the development accumulation of traditional cities and the vibrant competitive vigor of emerging cities. At the same time, the evaluation covers a wide range of areas, fully reflecting the overall strength of the city, rather than the advantages of one or two individual items
