1, with the same furniture color crayon or paint, in the furniture of the trauma, covering the exposed base color, and then a thin layer of clear nail polish can be applied.
2. For one or two deeper scratches, furniture repair wax sticks are often effective. These repair sticks, made from a variety of wood colors, are sold at hardware stores and sometimes grocery stores. Choose a refinishing stick that matches the finish. Apply the wax stick by pressing firmly on the scratch to create enough pressure to coat the scratch with wax. Remove the excess wax with a credit card or other thin plastic card, let it dry, and then sand it with a soft cloth. Heavily scratched surfaces should usually be repainted, but to hide one or two very deep scratches, simply color the scratched area to match the rest. Carefully apply the oil-based colorant along the scratch with a paintbrush and wipe it off after 15 minutes. If necessary, repeat the process until the scratch matches the rest of the wood.
3. To deal with freshly scratched marks, and to quickly hide fine scratches, start by mashing the pulp of pecans, hickory or Brazil nuts and rubbing this pulp along the scratches. The oils in the pulp will darken the rubbing scratches.
