Pediatric requirements for infusion pumps

One, pediatric ward infusion has the following special requirements:

(1) Premature infants need long-term intravenous nutrition support and long-term (more than 24 hours) maintenance of flow rate accuracy.

(2) Many newborns need nasal feeding, and regular small meals are beneficial to the establishment of gastrointestinal function.

(3) Many drugs need to be administered according to the weight of small patients to maintain accurate blood drug concentration.

(4) Newborns with severe hyperbilirubinemia need synchronous exchange of peripheral arteries and veins, and the cooperation of two infusion pumps is a better alternative at present.

Second, according to the above special requirements, the following performance should be paid attention to when selecting infusion pump:

(1) Can the PVC infusion set be used for more than 24 hours without damaging the elasticity of the pipeline, maintaining the flow accuracy without attenuation, stopping the machine, opening the door and jumping the pipe position?

(2) Whether it is possible to better meet the needs of newborns for nasal feeding through timed infusion (timed infusion).

(3) The infusion pump should have a weight model, which can ensure the accurate blood concentration of children and reduce the risk of medical staff making mistakes in complex conversion.

(4) In order to achieve the goal of synchronous exchange of blood for newborns, it is best to adopt the principle of semi-extrusion infusion to protect red blood cells from being destroyed.
