Friends have been working in hospitals for so long, and have come into contact with all sorts of people, and have witnessed many more unusual stories. I've compiled a few of them to share with you:
1. I almost lost my life when I coughed and fractured my ribs!
The thoracic surgery department once encountered a patient with chest pain, outpatient examination was found to be multiple rib fractures, ask the reason, but it was the morning of a violent cough, suddenly began to chest pain. Was the patient hesitant to apply for hospitalization that day, suddenly chest tightness, dyspnea, emergency admission to the hospital, further examination found that the patient had developed hemothorax icon, pulmonary atelectasis icon, hemoglobin rapidly decreased to 60, followed by unconsciousness. He was transferred to ICU for further life support, and stayed there for almost 2 months before and after, finally saving his life. Although the event itself is unbelievable, the reason why this patient suffered a fracture is still traceable, he had underlying chronic disease, there are abnormal bone metabolism, increased bone brittleness, and violent coughing led to uneven rib force, which triggered the fracture.
2. The practice of committing suicide by taking poison to scare people is not desirable!
This is a patient encountered during the emergency icon. The couple pulled each other to the hospital that day, and just arrived at the husband cried out for his daughter-in-law to be rescued. Go up to understand the situation only to know that the two couples quarrel in the morning, the husband slammed the door and left, the daughter-in-law was furious, said you dare to go out will die for you to see. Waiting for the man to complete a circle back, really smell the house has a stimulating flavor, but also saw the ground thrown insecticide bottles, so they rushed to bring her to the hospital. Who knows almost to the hospital, but his daughter-in-law said, I did not drink, just sprayed in the house to scare you, do not want to enter the hospital door. The man took a lot of effort to drag her in. Regardless of who is right, the first gastric lavage is important, in case of really taking poison but miss the rescue time, the consequences are unimaginable. After some operations, the patient also gave up the defense. Finally, when he was discharged from the hospital, he told us that he would never dare to scare people again and that he was regretting his death.
3. You can't find a hotel during the epidemic, so you want to use the hospital as a hotel?
Last year, during the epidemic, a patient was admitted, saying that his heart is difficult from time to time. After checking in the hospital, I found no major problems. Later, we learned that her husband came back from the risky areas of Shanghai, to home isolation, she was afraid of being infected, and did not want to live with him. She wanted to find a hotel, but it was not easy to find and troublesome, and was afraid that the hotel was not safe for people to come and go, so she made up a reason to be hospitalized. The company also said that the hospital will be strictly screened for nucleic acid, the safest, and in case of any discomfort, there is a doctor in the hospital.
