Hannin Medical College is one of the predecessors of Hubei Institute of Science and Technology.
In March 2002, Hannin Medical College and Hannin Teachers College merged to form Hannin College; in December 2011, the name was changed to Hubei Institute of Science and Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
Hubei College of Science and Technology, located in Xianning City, Hubei Province, is an ordinary undergraduate college in Hubei Province, the first batch of pilot colleges and universities for the project of excellent doctor education training program, pilot colleges and universities for the transformation and development of Hubei Province, and one hundred model colleges and universities for the integration of industry and education in China.
The school covers an area of 1,861 acres, with a building area of 630,000 square meters, a total value of 181 million yuan of teaching instruments and equipment, and a library collection of 2.1 million books; it has 19 teaching colleges, 60 undergraduate majors, and one professional master's degree authorization category; *** there are more than 17,000 full-time students, and 1,425 faculty and staff members (including 1,031 full-time faculty members).
