Cerebral palsy is also known as cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a disease of central movement disorders caused by non-progressive brain injury or abnormal brain development from before birth to one month after birth, with lesions in the brain and often in the accumulated limbs. It is a clinical syndrome of congenital movement disorders and postural abnormalities
Symptoms of cerebral palsy:
1. Movement disorders - poor self-motor control, can't grasp things. Can't speak. Can't walk. Can't roll over. Can't get up. Can't stand. Cannot chew and swallow properly.
2. Postural disorders - all kinds of postural abnormalities and poor postural stability. 3 months still can not head upright. Hand clenched fist is not easy to break open. The legs are not easily straightened.
3. Mental retardation - normal intelligence about 1/4 ? Mild to moderate mental retardation about 1/2 severe mental retardation about 1/4.
4. Speech disorder - difficulty in speech expression, slurred pronunciation or stuttering. Severe cases will not speak.
5. Visual and auditory disorders - internal oblique vision and difficulty in recognizing the rhythm of sounds are most common.
6. Growth disorders - short stature.
7. Dental development disorders - loose texture and easy to break.
8. Emotional behavioral disorders - stubbornness. Willfulness. Irritability. Isolation. Mood swings. Sometimes obsessive-compulsive. Self-injury. Aggressive behavior.
9.40%-50% of children with cerebral palsy have epilepsy. Especially in children with severe mental retardation.
