How to scan Canon

This can be done as follows:

1. Connect your printer to your computer. If you want to do this wirelessly, you'll need to use the monitor on your printer to connect it to the same wireless network as your computer. Your computer should then be able to find it on the network.

2. Install the software on your computer. Insert the CD-ROM or download it from the Web site shown in the guidebook. Most multifunction printers must have software installed to communicate with the printer.

3. Test the printer. In order for the scanner to work properly, the printer must be in working order. Send a print job to the printer and make sure it completes the job.

4. Turn on the Canon printer and computer.

5. Lift the cover of the printer. Make sure the glass is free of dust and other items. If it looks dirty, use a can of compressed air. Some Canon printers will also have a document feeder. Make sure this area is free of debris and dust. Check the image at the top of the feeder to see what direction the paper should be loaded.

6. Place what you want to scan on the glass and close the lid.

7. Check your applications. Find the Canon Printer app and open it. In a few cases, the printer and scanner may have different apps, although most printers have both in a single app.

8. Click Scan on the Options tab or select Scanner from the list of printer options. Select the type of document you are scanning and the resolution and format you want to save it in.
