By 2010, the main economic pillar industry in Dingxiang was the forging and pressing industry. There were 632 forging and pressing enterprises in Dingxiang County, employing nearly 20,000 people, and there were more than 800 sets of forging equipment such as forging hammers and air hammers, as well as more than 1,700 sets of processing equipment such as lathes, drills, and planes, etc., which had formed four series of products such as flange, gears, bearings, and alloy steel modules, with an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons, and an output value of 2.06 billion yuan, accounting for 65% of the total output value of rural enterprises in Dingxiang County. Flange products are exported to 30 countries and regions, and the annual export volume reaches 76,000 tons, accounting for 70% of the total national export volume, which makes the company one of the largest flange production bases in the country and even in Asia, and it was formally awarded the honorary title of "Hometown of Chinese Forging" by the state in 1999. In 1999, it was officially awarded the honorary title of "China's Forging Hometown" by the state.
In 2012, 34 provincial and municipal key projects started construction of 33, completed investment of 3.344 billion yuan; 37 county-level key projects started construction of 34, completed investment of 696 million yuan. The "six enterprises" carrying projects completed investment of 431 million yuan, exceeding the annual plan by 8.2 percentage points. In 2012, Dingxiang County, Xinzhou (state) River (border) Railway and Xin (state) Fuxi Expressway, Xin (state) (five) Taiwan Tourist Highway, three (village) Yaoci (pool) line across the entire territory, the townships and villages through the oil road, the basic formation of the three trunks of the nine branches of the six cycle for the framework of the transportation network. On September 23, 2012, the road construction project of Dingxiang North Street was successfully completed and opened to traffic. By 2009, the medical and health institutions in Dingxiang County included the Dingxiang County Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Maternal and Child Health Center, Dingxiang County Health Supervision Institute, New Rural Cooperative Medical Management Center, Dingxiang County People's Hospital, Dingxiang County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dingxiang County Stomatological Hospital, Xinzhou Red Cross Rinkang Orthopaedic Injury Specialized Hospital, Mingyue Hospital, TISCO Daguanshan Mining Hospital, Jinchang Township Sanitary Clinic, Yangfang Township Sanitary Clinic, and Nanwang Township Sanitary Clinic, Jiangcun Township Health Center, Shenshan Township Health Center, Hebian Township Health Center, Hongdao Township Health Center, Jizhuang Township Health Center, Shiliu Township Health Center, Guanzhuang Community Health Service Station, Shijiagang Community Health Service Station, Lijiazhuang Community Health Service Station, Nanzhuang Community Health Service Station, Baicun Community Health Service Station, Dongjiyan Community Health Service Station, as well as various types of socially-run and individually-practiced health care institutions.
In 2009, all nine township health centers in Dingxiang County were newly built and remodeled, purchased new medical equipment such as ultrasound, electrocardiograms, and X-ray machines, equipped with ambulances, and assigned 76 medical school graduates to grassroots health centers.
