Construction Standards for Decoction Room of Traditional Chinese Medicines in Medical Institutions

I. Facilities and Equipment

1. The decoction room of traditional Chinese medicines (hereinafter referred to as the decoction room) should be far away from all kinds of pollutants and the experimental animal room. The surrounding ground, pavement and vegetation should not cause pollution to the decoction process.

2, Chinese medicine decoction room of the house and area should be based on the size of the medical unit and the amount of decoction reasonable configuration. There should be storage (medicine) room, preparation room (area), decoction room, cleaning room (area), locker room, work area and living area separate.

3, the decoction room should be spacious, bright, the ground, walls, roof should be flat, clean, non-polluting, easy to clean, there should be effective measures to prevent pollution, insects and other animals to enter. The room should have effective ventilation, dust removal, water prevention and fire fighting facilities. 4, decoction of various indoor piping, lamps, air vents and other utilities in the design and installation should be avoided in parts that are not easy to clean.

5, the decoction room must be equipped with perfect decoction equipment, with storage facilities, cold storage facilities.

6, decoction table should be flat and clean.

7, the decoction room should be equipped with measuring cups (cylinders), filters, timers, storage containers, bottle racks and so on.

8, decoction containers to ceramic, enamel, stainless steel is appropriate, prohibit the use of iron utensils.

9, storage containers should be closed to prevent dust, mold, pollution. After use should be cleaned in a timely manner, before use should be strictly sterilized.

Two, personnel

1, the decoction room should have a certain level of theory and practical experience of pharmacists specifically responsible for the decoction room business guidance, quality control and management.

2, the decoction staff must undergo professional knowledge and skills training in traditional Chinese medicine, after the examination, assessment and qualification, before engaging in the work of decoction of traditional Chinese medicine.

3, decoction staff should have a health record, at least once a year physical examination. Infectious diseases, skin disease patients and body surface wounds shall not be engaged in decoction work.

4, decoction personnel must pay attention to personal hygiene. Before decocting, they should clean and sterilize their hands and wear special working clothes and caps. Work clothes should be cleaned and organized regularly.
