The Product Classification Catalog (Draft for Public Comments)*** is divided into three volumes:
The first volume includes: agricultural, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery products, mineral products, food, beverages, tobacco,
textiles, garments, footwear, hats, leather, furs and their products, timber processing

electronic equipment, instruments and cultural and office machinery, waste materials
recycled and processed products, electricity, gas and water;
The next volume includes: products for the construction industry and products for the service industry.
Third, corresponding to the relevant standards
The compilation of the Product Classification Catalog mainly corresponds to, and makes reference to, the following standard classifications:
1. National Standard National Economic Industry Classification (GB/T 4754-2002);
2. General Product Classification (CPC, Version 1.0) developed by the United Nations Statistics Division;
3. Customs Statistical Commodity Catalog (HS, 2005 edition) developed by the State General Administration of Customs.
Four, classification principles
Classification by product use is the main principle followed in the compilation of the Product Classification Catalog, and full consideration has also been given to the convergence with the national standard of the National Economic Industry Classification (GB/T 4754-2002).
V. Method of Code Preparation
The product code in the Product Classification Catalog has a maximum of 10 digits, ****divided into five layers, each layer of two codes.
The first layer: 2-digit code, in principle, for the broad categories of national economic industries code (except for construction products, public **** management);
The second layer: 4-digit code, taking into account with the "National Economic Industry Classification" of the national standard, this layer of code as far as possible with the industry classification of the sub-category of the 4-digit code, or according to the industry in the category code compilation.
The third to the fifth layer, in principle, each layer of the two sequential code 01 to 99, the last other products are generally expressed in "99".
VI. Corresponding Codes
In the upper and middle volumes of the Product Classification Catalog, three columns of codes correspond to the back of each product entry***: in addition to the four-digit code for the subcategory of the National Economic and Industrial Classification, CPC indicates the corresponding product code of the United Nations Central Product Classification (Version 1.0), and HS indicates the product code for the Customs Statistical Commodity Catalog.
In the next volume, two columns of codes correspond to the end of each product entry: the 4-digit code for the subcategory of the National Economic and Industrial Classification (NEC), and CPC for the corresponding product code of the United Nations' Central Product Classification (Version 1.0).
VII. Units of Measurement of Products
In the upper and middle volumes of the CPC, units of measurement are specified for each product. The unit of measurement is generally based on the smallest unit, in order to adapt to the needs of the super-summary grass-roots filling.
For products with composite units of measurement specified in the Product Classification Catalog, the first unit of measurement is used for filing if there are no special requirements.
VIII. Use of the Product Classification Catalog
Product Classification Catalog*** compiles more than 34,000 entries of products and service categories, daily statistics and various censuses, are required to select from the Product Classification Catalog, and requires the uniform implementation of the product code and its unit of measurement specified in the catalog. The remaining products can be used as the basis for accurately delineating the nature of activities of enterprises or units and categorizing them according to the National Economic Industry Classification (NEDIC), which will provide the basic conditions for the construction of a joint library of the Product Classification Catalogue and NEDIC, and for the establishment of a system of statistical standards.
Considering the comparison with historical information, the catalog specifies code intervals for aggregate products that need to be summarized. For example:
1520 Wine 1521-1529 kiloliters
If you need the total volume data of "wine", you can summarize the relevant statistics of "1521-1529" in the catalog. The relevant statistics for "1521-1529" in the catalog can be processed and summarized.
