Fundamentals of streaming media technology-camera interface and standard

Cameras are classified by interface as follows

The full name of MIPI Alliance is Mobile Industry Processor Interface Alliance, which is an industry alliance composed of application or hardware manufacturers in mobile communication and entertainment electronic products industry.

MIPI cameras are widely used in other embedded products, such as driving recorders, law enforcement instruments, high-definition miniature camera, network surveillance cameras and so on.

According to the protocol, it can be divided into DSI and CSI-2 interfaces.

Displays the serial interface specification (DSI) of the mobile phone. Physical layer specification of DSI D-PHY with high speed, low power consumption and extensible serial interconnection based on MIPI. The physical layer based on SLVS supports data rates as high as 1Gbps, while generating minimal noise.

The CSI-2 interface contains two kinds of connections: CSI and CCI.

CSI-2 consists of application layer, protocol layer and physical layer.

Network camera, also called IP camera (IPC for short), consists of network coding module and analog camera. IP-CAMERA network cameras usually have digital cameras and recording devices with built-in Web services, which are directly connected to Ethernet (wired and wireless). Users can watch and listen to the video and sound transmitted by the webcam through a standard web browser.

Common standards for webcams include ONVIF standard, PSIA standard, HDTV standard and GB/T28 18 1 standard.

Interfaces defined in the device management and control part of ONVIF specification are all provided in the form of Web services, and devices are service providers. The ONVIF specification covers a complete definition based on XML and WSDL. Each terminal device supporting the ONVIF specification must provide network services corresponding to its functions. The data interaction between server and client adopts SOAP protocol. Other parts of ONVIF, such as audio and video streams, are carried out through RTP/RTSP.
