At the end of Qing Dynasty, Yuan Naikuan, a native of dayangzhuang Laoyuanzhai, Luhe Township, Zhengyang County, was very popular with Yuan Shikai because of his family tree climbing. During Yuan Shikai's presidency of the Republic of China, Yuan Naikuan was in charge of the national financial power. In the first year of the Republic of China, relying on his power, he occupied Zhanggang Village in the northeast of the county town and renamed it Yuanzhai. He invested huge sums of money to buy land 1300 mu, dig rivers to build villages, build large-scale civil works and build houses. The architecture of Yuan House is said to be in the style of Beijing Imperial Palace, which consists of two parts: the outer house is a commercial area and the inner house is a residential area. Regrettably, the Yuan Family Courtyard was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.
Yuan Naikuan has more than 300 hectares of real estate in Zhengyang, and more than 700 properties in Xiping, Queshan, Xinyang and Jigongshan. Zhengyang Zhanggangzhai was forcibly renamed as Yuanzhai, and it took nearly three years to build Yuanyuan Garden, covering an area of 100 square meters and with 138 buildings, which was called "Little Forbidden City".
