Announcement on the Publication of the National Standard "Technical Specification for Lightning Protection for Electronic Information Systems in Buildings"
The "Technical Specification for Lightning Protection for Electronic Information Systems in Buildings" is hereby approved as a national standard, numbered GB 50343-2012, and shall come into force as of December 1, 2012. Among them, Article 5.1.2, 5.2.5, 5.4.2, 7.3.3 for mandatory provisions, must be strictly enforced. The original "building electronic information systems lightning technical specifications" GB 50343-2004 is abolished at the same time.

Preface
This specification is based on the former Ministry of Construction, "on the issuance of <2007 engineering construction standards and specifications for the development, revision of the plan (the first batch of)> the notice" (building standards [2007] No. 125), by the China Architectural Standards Design Institute and Sichuan Zhongguang High-tech Industrial Development Group in the "building electronic information systems lightning protection technical specifications" GB 50343-2004 content in /webarbs/book/14095/1194770.shtml on the basis of the revised completion.
This specification **** divided into 8 chapters and 6 appendices. The main technical content includes: general provisions, terminology, lightning protection zoning, lightning protection classification and lightning risk assessment, lightning protection design, lightning protection construction, testing and acceptance, maintenance and management.
The main content of the revision of this specification is:
1. Deleted the original specification is not used in the individual terms, increased the explanation of the terms necessary for the correct understanding of the specification. In addition, the original terminology retained to explain the content has been adjusted.
2. Increased by the risk management requirements for lightning risk assessment. At the same time, in the appendix part of the lightning risk assessment according to risk management requirements to add a specific assessment of the calculation method.
3. Table 4.3.1 of the various buildings in the lightning protection level of electronic information systems have been adjusted.
4. Chapter 5, "lightning protection design" of the contents of the revised supplement.
5. Chapter 7 name change to "testing and acceptance", the content has been adjusted.
6. Add three appendices, namely, Appendix B "risk assessment of lightning according to the requirements of risk management", Appendix D "lightning magnetic field strength calculation method", Appendix E "signal line surge protector Appendix D "Calculation Method of Lightning Strike Magnetic Field Strength Appendix F "the average annual number of days of thunderstorms in major cities across the country statistical table" according to the latest available data has been revised to list only municipalities, provincial capitals and some secondary cities of the average annual number of days of thunderstorms. 7. 5.2.6 and 5.5.7, paragraph 2 (former 5.4.10, paragraph 2) are no longer mandatory provisions.

1 General
1.0.1 In order to prevent and reduce the hazards caused by lightning to the electronic information system of the building, and to protect the people's life and property safety, this specification is developed. This specification.
1.0.2 This specification applies to the design, construction, acceptance, maintenance and management of new, altered and expanded building electronic information systems lightning protection. This specification does not apply to the explosion and fire hazardous places of the building electronic information system lightning protection.
1.0.3 Lightning protection of electronic information systems in buildings should adhere to the principle of prevention, safety first.
1.0.4 In the building of electronic information systems lightning design, should be based on the characteristics of the building of electronic information systems, according to the overall requirements of the project, comprehensive planning, coordination and unity of the external lightning protection measures and internal lightning protection measures to achieve safe and reliable, technologically advanced, economically rational.
1.0.5 The building electronic information system should use external lightning protection and internal lightning protection measures for integrated protection.
