It is an indisputable fact that Loongson Company is too small in scale and seriously short of manpower, and there are even fewer full-time engineers engaged in development work.

In view of this situation, Godson should follow the example of ARM's early weakness (only a fool would expect hundreds of engineers to really beat tens of thousands of engineers of Intel AMD). Loongson Company voluntarily gave up developing specific chip products, concentrated on developing a new generation of ip cores, effectively improved the performance of the new generation of ip cores, and then authorized the ip cores to other companies to develop specific chip products.

At present, many countries, including China, are aware that over-reliance on the products of Intel and AMD in the United States will lead to huge loopholes in national security. I want to get rid of it, but I can't handle it myself. At this time, if a company can sell ip cores and help these countries launch their own computer chips as soon as possible to balance the influence of Intel and AMD, I believe many countries will be optimistic. There are really too many countries like Russia, India, South Korea and Europe that want to get rid of Intel and AMD in the United States.

In China, ip core can be licensed to Huawei, Lenovo, Inspur, Ziguang and other companies. In this way, the research and development personnel of Loongson related products have rapidly grown to hundreds of thousands of engineers, and the related employees have reached millions. This is not a dream at all.

Although the performance is not as good as Intel's, it is truly self-controllable, and it is a pure Chinese core.

First, the autonomy and controllability of Godson.

Because of this, Godson is widely used in government, military, finance, education and other industries. It requires confidentiality and attaches great importance to security and controllability.

Second, the performance of the godson

For a chip, it is natural to consider performance. At present, compared with intel, the performance of Godson does have a gap of about 3-5 years, so individual consumers have no perception of Godson, because Godson is not for personal consumption, because this field likes to "run a score", and naturally Godson is difficult to be recognized.

More importantly, in the field of personal consumption, the ecological requirements are very high. At present, windows can only be installed on intel\AMD chips with X86 architecture, and it does not support Loongson, so there are very few notebooks and desktops using Loongson.

Third, the significance of godson

In addition, at present, many people have misunderstandings about Loongson, thinking that the performance of this chip is not good, and it relies entirely on government-subsidized goods. In fact, it is not. The state stopped subsidizing Godson a long time ago.

Godson is a commercial activity now, and it is entirely responsible for its own profits and losses. In 20 14 years, Loongson made a profit, and in 20 19 years, it made a profit 10 billion. Over the years, the tax paid by Loongson has already exceeded the subsidy given by the government. Don't treat it as cheating.

Once Loongson succeeds, it will truly free China Core from external dependence. After all, ARM still relies on ARM architecture, but Loongson relies on nothing. It is completely 100% pure Chinese core, which is of great significance and deserves your support.

Godson is based on MIPS instruction set, and has been permanently authorized by relevant instruction sets. It can be said that Godson is not stuck in intellectual property rights such as instruction set, but because MIPS instruction set has no place in the current market, and its application field is limited, at least in the consumer market, with little hope. The PC in the consumer market is mainly a processor with X86 architecture. Mobile phones and other mid-range processors are mainly ARM processors, leaving little room for Godson. Although many people say that the performance of Loongson is as good as some Intel products, or as good as AMD excavators, because of the different architecture, this comparison is actually of little significance to ordinary users, because at present, ordinary consumers have poor ecological support for Loongson. Even if they can run Windows systems, they are simulated, and their performance will naturally be reduced.

Although Loongson has no improvement in the consumer mass market, it can still develop slowly in some sub-sectors, and with Loongson technology in hand, at least the problem of yes or no is solved. In the face of foreign competition, it is emboldened, and in the R&D and application development process of Loongson, it has also cultivated its own talents, so in the long run, the significance of Loongson is not small, so the initial development of Loongson mainly depends on government support. The most promising, most difficult and most independent domestic processor has been concerned about Loongson 15- 16 years. Moreover, the bridge chip supports independent display, and the performance can be improved by using NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards. Godson is cooperating with NVIDIA.

Loongson 3A/B-4000 released on February 24th, 20 19, based on the newly developed GS464V kernel, the main frequency was increased to 2.0GHz, and the score was 10, so the score was 2 1 minute, which was close to AMD's excavator CPU two years ago, and the difference was 30~40 with the mainstream scores of Intel and AMD.

Godson management:

Of course, it is impossible for Microsoft and Google to be compatible with Loongson. So although Loongson has installed and run WindowsXP through the binary simulation of X86 instructions, large-scale software and professional software (such as PS, stocks, games, etc. ) can't be used. As a result, Loongson can't use Windows and Android normally, so Loongson can't enter the consumer industry at present, and ordinary users naturally can't see the Loongson processor.

Therefore, after the Loongson team left the Chinese Academy of Sciences on 20 10 to set up Loongson Company to be responsible for its own profits and losses, it began to exist with the angel investment of nearly RMB 200 million from the Beijing Municipal Government, starting from the low-end embedded field and expanding to the industry field and special and customized fields. After all, as an enterprise, it is not ideal to survive, but Loongson has done a good job in the industry. From network servers, storage servers, anti-radiation processors for satellites, to customized computers, set-top boxes, TV CPUs, military command and control systems, high-temperature and high-pressure special processors, to low-end embedding such as traffic lights and charging piles, and other application scenarios are being done, and services such as software are also being done.
