Solidworks slippers - model is more interesting, the process is not difficult

Hello everyone, today we introduce you to a more entry-level model - modeling slippers. Anyone with a little bit of foundation can do it.

First of all, here's a picture of the finished product.

Modeling ideas:

The left and right sides are mirror images. The base plate is relatively simple, you can use stretch or release can be done, the dots are arrays. Slightly more troublesome is the center circle. It looks like it should be obtained by making a surface and thickening it. Then the surface just needs two contour lines and a cross section to pass through.

The following are the exact modeling steps.

1. Draw the shape of the left foot in the top view datum. It's just for resemblance, the dimensions don't need to be too detailed.

2. The first step to create a sketch to do the stretching of the cam, stretching height value: 10. Without pulling the mold.

3. Right-click on the following datum to make a sketch.

4. Create the first point. Draw a circle and then do a cam stretch, height value of 0.5.

5. Create an array along the curve. Array trajectory for the periphery of the outline of the slipper, the number of arrays: 46, distance: 10. "OffsetCurve" and "tangent to the curve (TangenttoCurve)" on the check mark.

6. Next, create two small circles and do a camber stretch, height value: 0.5.

7. Again create an array along the curve. The trajectory curve is still the peripheral outline, number of arrays: 32.

8. Now start drawing the slipper soleplate. Right-click on the soleplate to create a sketch.

9. Sketch the three ellipses in the image below and use them to create a stretch excision, depth value: 1.0.

10. Next, create the non-slip groove. Sketch the following rectangle, do a stretch excision, depth value: 1.0.

11. Continue to create a non-slip groove. Sketch the following circles and do a stretch excision with a depth value of 1.0.

12. Create the non-slip groove for the head of the foot. Sketch the following waist shaped holes doing a stretch excision to a depth of 1.0

13. Next, draw the center band. Draw the following pattern on the bottom of the foot plate.

14. With the help of a dotted line in the sketch created in the previous step create datum 1 with an angle of 43° to the front view datum.

15.Next, create datum 2. with the help of another dotted line from step 23, at an angle of 13° to the front view.

16.Create the following sketch on datum plane 1.

17.Create the following sketch on datum 2.

18. Create a release surface. The contours and trajectories are the curves created in steps 23, 26, and 27, respectively. Make good use of the SelectionManager when selecting guide lines. It can be called up with the right click.

19. Create datum 3, and drag the top view datum upward.

20. Create a sketched waist hole on datum 3.

21.Create the split line using the sketch created in the previous step.

22.Remove the unwanted faces from the shoe hoops with the deletion face.

23.Thicken the shoe hoop with a thickness value of 1.0 to remove the checkmark before merging the results.

24. Drag the right view datum to the right to create the datum 4.

25. Using the mirror image, select the sole and the shoe hoop two entities to get the right side of the shoe.

Drawing is complete.

Modeling tips:

This example uses the more basic stretch, release commands. Slightly less common is the array along the curve.
