The Internet of Things is an important part of the new generation of information technology. Its English name is "The?Internet?of?things". From this, as the name suggests, "The Internet of Things is the Internet of Things".
This has two meanings:
Firstly, the core and foundation of IoT is still the Internet, which is an extended and expanded network based on the Internet;
Secondly, its user end extends and expands to any item to item for information exchange and communication. Therefore, the Internet of Things (IoT) is defined as a network that connects any item to the Internet for information exchange and communication through information sensing devices such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), infrared sensors, Global Positioning System (GPS), laser scanners, and so on, in accordance with agreed protocols, in order to realize the intelligent identification, localization, tracking, monitoring, and management of items.
First of all, it is a wide application of various sensing technologies. A huge number of multiple types of sensors are deployed on the Internet of Things, and each sensor is a source of information, and different categories of sensors capture different information content and information format. The data obtained by the sensors is real-time in nature, and the environmental information is captured periodically at a certain frequency, constantly updating the data.?
Secondly, it is a kind of ubiquitous network built on the Internet. The important foundation and core of the Internet of Things technology is still the Internet, which is integrated with the Internet through a variety of wired and wireless networks to deliver real-time and accurate information about objects. The information collected regularly by sensors on the Internet of Things needs to be transmitted through the network, and because of its extremely large number, it forms a massive amount of information, which must be adapted to a variety of heterogeneous networks and protocols in order to guarantee the correctness and timeliness of the data in the transmission process.
What's more, the Internet of Things does not only provide the connection of sensors, but also has the ability of intelligent processing itself, which can implement intelligent control of objects. IoT combines sensors and intelligent processing, utilizing various intelligent technologies such as cloud computing and pattern recognition to expand its application areas. Analyze, process and process meaningful data from the massive information obtained from sensors to adapt to the different needs of different users and discover new application areas and application modes.
