The national qualification examinations for professional and technical personnel are as follows:

Economic professional and technical qualifications are subject to a unified national examination system, which is organized uniformly across the country, with unified syllabus, unified test questions, and unified scoring standards. There are two levels of qualification examinations: primary qualifications for economics majors and intermediate qualifications for economics majors. Those who take the exam and pass the exam will obtain professional and technical qualifications of the corresponding level, and the Ministry of Personnel will issue a certificate of qualification.

In January 1993, the Ministry of Personnel issued the "Notice of the Ministry of Personnel on Issuance and Distribution" (Personnel Issue No. 1), deciding to implement a secondary and junior professional and technical qualification examination system among economic professionals. The examination work is handled by the Personnel Department and some professional departments, and the daily work is handled by the Personnel Examination Center of the Personnel Department. The exam is held once a year, usually in early November.

In principle, examination rooms will only be set up in cities at or above the prefecture level. If necessary, examination rooms can be set up in counties.
