Taizhou Vocational and Technical College is located in Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, one of the birthplaces of China's private economy, an important manufacturing base in the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, and a modern port city on the southeastern coast. The school was prepared in 1999 and formally established in 2001, and it is a full-time ordinary school of higher education organized by the government. In 2012, the school was approved as a model higher vocational school in Zhejiang Province.

April 29, 1998, Taizhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee (enlarged) meeting decided to prepare for the construction of the "Taizhou Institute of Vocational Technology," and listed in the city's key projects.
