Is Chinese medicine a pseudo-science? How should we treat TCM?
Tu Runsheng The use of flowers, fruits, insects, grass, wood, fungi, soil, stone, shellfish and animal bones, blood, skin, hair, organs, horns, feces to cure diseases has been documented in our country for at least several thousand years of history. Academician HO Joan said that Chinese medicine is a pseudo-science, and Ark said that acupuncture therapy in Chinese medicine has only a comforting effect, that acupuncture points have no western scientific basis, and that the issuance of medical licenses for Chinese medicine and acupuncture is a result of medical corruption. According to them, practicing Chinese medicine is tantamount to practicing fraud. Whether or not TCM is a pseudo-science has been debated for a long time in China, but the result is that it is not settled, and TCM is still prevalent in the society. We should in the end if we recognize and apply the theory and technology of Chinese medicine? First, Chinese medical technology is not pseudo-technology but practical technology, the theoretical explanation of Chinese medicine is only the theory of the only image is suspected of pseudo-science, some animals can also use Cordyceps sinensis to treat injuries and insect prevention. It is said that the efficacy of the main ingredient of Yunnan Baiyao was first discovered by tigers. After the birth of mankind, human beings discovered the therapeutic efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in their long-term practice. For example, Chinese medical texts such as the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine and the Compendium of Materia Medica are summaries of human practice of Chinese medicine. There are also medical books on how to make comprehensive use of already recognized Chinese herbs, which are also summaries of the practical experience of Chinese medicine treatment. The medical efficacy of herbs cannot be denied. For example, money grass has the effect of removing stones in the body, He Shou Wu has the effect of black hair, wolfberry has the effect of tonifying the kidneys, Eucommia has the effect of lowering blood pressure, etc., all of which are objective facts that do not shift with human consciousness. Chinese medicine is a medical technology that utilizes the efficacy of these herbs. To deny Chinese medicine, one must first deny the medicinal value of herbs. As long as the efficacy of those herbs is objective, Chinese medicine is practical. The existence of unskilled Chinese medicine practitioners and the use of Chinese medicine to cheat people does not mean that the entire Chinese medicine profession is cheating, and that Chinese medical arts are all pseudo-techniques and witchcrafts. If the Chinese medical arts are fraudulent, then Bian Magpie, Hua Tuo, Sun Simiao, and Li Shizhen are all culprits, and could not possibly have such a high prestige (receive such a high rating). It is simply impossible for a charlatan to be esteemed as a prominent historical figure. The explanatory system of Chinese medicine utilizes the concepts of yin and yang, cold and heat, inner and outer surfaces, deficiency and reality, evil and righteousness, accumulation and deficiency, stagnation and smoothness, wetness and dryness, water and fire, acupuncture points, meridians and collaterals, qi and blood, Yuan and Shen, and other terms and concepts to explain the physiology of the human body and the mechanism of healing. No anatomical evidence can be found for these things, and the description of them is basically borrowed from some familiar terms. If we compare the development process of Chinese medicine theory with that of the theory of material structure, Chinese medicine theory is only equivalent to the theory of material structure at the stage of the "five elements" doctrine. Therefore, the theory of Chinese medicine is still only an image theory, and it is very much like a false pseudo-scientific theory. However, this cannot deny the successful application of Chinese medicine. As mentioned above, human beings are not yet able to explain the mechanism of Chinese medicine. Some stubborn people take advantage of this to deny Chinese medicine. Most of the inadequacies of Chinese medicine are caused by this lack of theory in the present situation. It is precisely because they do not know the mechanism of Chinese medicine in curing diseases that makes it difficult for Chinese medicine practitioners to grasp the art of Chinese medicine with absolute accuracy. In addition, the description of Chinese medicine and Chinese herbal medicine is qualitative, but the treatment of disease must be quantitative (the amount of medicine to be administered, the ratio of the amount of different herbs to each other, and the types of herbs needed for the best results in a single dose of Chinese medicine all need to be clearly defined). This is the most difficult thing for TCM practitioners to master, which affects the overall effectiveness of TCM and increases its risks. The good thing is that there is a large number of TCM treatment cases to refer to, and there have not been too many mistakes as a result (TCM has been proven to be even safer and more reliable than Western medicine). Japan is also a country where Chinese medicine is prevalent. While China is constantly questioning and even pursuing Chinese medicine, and there is a lot of academic debate on whether Chinese medicine is pseudo-science, the research and application of Chinese medicine in Japan has developed by leaps and bounds. They have found more active ingredients in Chinese herbs and developed wall-breaking technology (that is, breaking the cell walls of the cells in which the active ingredients of Chinese medicines hide), thus greatly improving the efficacy of Chinese medicines. Our Chinese folk and the vast majority of pharmaceutical companies are still relying solely on pots to cook their herbs. The Japanese Chinese medicine business has also contributed to the scientificization of Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine originated in China has been carried forward by the Japanese. This is very similar to the case of Huangmei Opera, which originated in Huangmei, Hubei, being developed by the people of Hefei, Anhui. Japan's economy and technology are more developed than us in China, we are learning from others in the economy at the same time, whether it is also learn from others to treat the attitude of Chinese medicine? Second, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine is complementary to Ark said that the combination of Chinese and Western medicine is like the combination of alchemy and chemistry can not be realized. This analogy is totally inappropriate. Because, the modernization of science is through the alchemy stage and the development of (chemical rise, alchemy died out). Western medicine was not developed on the basis of Chinese medicine. Ancient alchemy is now long abandoned, alchemy and modern chemistry are not from the same era, and there is a time gap between the combination of alchemy and modern chemistry. Chinese medicine and Western medicine are popular in modern society at the same time, and there is no time gap between the combination of Chinese and Western medicine. In Chinese medicine and Western medicine, sometimes one treats the root cause and the other the symptoms, and sometimes one treats internally and the other externally. Their effects are complementary, and it is better to administer them at the same time. For example, if a wound becomes pus on a hot day, Western medicine is used to directly sterilize the wound, while Chinese medicine is used to improve the self-repairing ability of the tissues, the sterilizing vitality of the red blood cells and the overall resistance of the person. The simultaneous use of Chinese and Western medicines to treat suppurating wounds can make the functions of Chinese and Western medicines complement each other, thus greatly improving the therapeutic effect. For example, if the blood uric acid is too high, the Western medicine practitioner will prescribe colchicine or even sodium bicarbonate, whereas the Chinese medicine practitioner will suggest diet as a treatment. After a long time, the method suggested by the Chinese medicine practitioner can cure the high uric acid, while the Western medicine practitioner, as long as the medicine is stopped, the problem will occur again. For impotence and premature ejaculation, Western medicine uses Viagra for temporary relief, while Chinese medicine can cure it completely by strengthening the kidneys. The modern orthopedics and traumatology diagnosis and treatment method in China is very typical of the combination of Chinese and Western medicine. Chinese medicine and Western medicine complementary also manifested in Chinese medicine can not cure the disease of Western medicine can cure, Western medicine can not cure the disease of Chinese medicine can cure. The more serious rheumatism caused by the old disease of dampness and wind on the disturbance caused by the headache disease, Western medicine did not rule the law, Chinese medicine can be cured. Leukemia and tuberculosis can not be cured by Chinese medicine, while Western medicine can be cured. Cirrhosis of the liver and renal failure Western medicine does not have a good treatment method to repair the function of the liver and kidneys, while Chinese medicine has such a method. Diseases such as toothache and mouth ulcers caused by fire and pimples and spots on the face caused by internal toxins are cured by TCM but not by Western medicine. Chronic pharyngitis and chronic rhinitis cannot be cured by Western medicine, while Chinese medicine can cure them. Kidney failure to the stage of uremia, Chinese medicine has no cure, while Western medicine can dialysis or kidney transplantation. Kidney failure before uremia, Chinese medicine has a way to curb, while Western medicine can only let it develop to the stage of uremia to implement dialysis or kidney transplantation. The life expectancy after kidney transplantation is usually not more than 10 years, and the cost of dialysis is very high. Considering these factors, Western medicine has no absolute advantage in the treatment of kidney disease. Chinese medicine is to treat small illnesses, big illnesses and no illnesses, while western medicine is to wait for small illnesses and hidden problems to get bigger before treating them (western medicine has to wait until the disease has developed to a certain extent and can be checked to find out what kind of lesions it is before treating it). Chinese medicine can prevent the disease before it occurs (called "no disease prevention"), is beyond the reach of Western medicine. It is only that most people do not accept this kind of health care method of "taking medicine and adjusting without disease", and they would rather use qigong health care methods to prevent diseases before they occur. In addition to incurable diseases, difficult and complicated diseases can be considered to be treated by Chinese medicine, and Western medicine can do nothing about it. There are many diseases that can be treated much better with a combination of Chinese and Western medicine. For example, for patients with extensive burns, the use of traditional Chinese medicine sprayed externally with the burn wet therapy invented by Xu Huarong, along with a drip of antibiotics in Western medicine, can greatly improve the survival rate of patients with extensive burns and reduce scarring. More on this form of complementary Chinese and Western medicine later. Both Chinese and Western medicine have open surgical treatments, and it is impossible to say whether surgical treatment belongs to Chinese or Western medicine. It is also impossible to say whether the use of chlorophyll or the sodium salt of copper chlorophyll to cure diseases (skin allergies, dermatophytosis, itchy skin) belongs to Chinese or Western medicine. It is also impossible to say that the use of oral vitamins to cure illnesses is completely unrelated to food therapy in TCM. This shows that there is a cross section between TCM and Western medicine. Another example is the treatment of malaria, where both TCM and Western medicine use cinchona alkaloids (the difference is only that TCM uses herbs containing this ingredient, while Western medicine uses cinchona alkaloids directly). Expressed in academic language, this is also called the crossover of marginal parts of disciplines. Aids disease, Latex cancer, that is, the seemingly simple vasculitis, are all incurable diseases. The existence of incurable diseases in medicine leaves room for the development of both TCM and Western medicine, not Western medicine alone. In other words, the existence of incurable diseases requires both TCM and Western medicine*** to work together to overcome medical difficulties. Applying both Western and Chinese medical techniques to a person (or treating the same disease) is the combination of Chinese and Western medicine. This has happened countless times, so how can we deny the fact that this has already happened and say that the combination of Chinese and Western medicine cannot be realized? As mentioned above, it is difficult to deny Chinese medicine completely and abandon it altogether, at least some of the things that originally belonged to Chinese medicine (or the intersection of the two healing arts) need to be forced into Western medicine. Ark is not a doctor and has not conducted any clinical trials on the ineffectiveness of Chinese medicine, nor has he conducted any clinical trials on the complete ineffectiveness of Chinese medicine, so his claim that "Chinese medicine only has some comforting effects" is totally unfounded. The so-called basis of his own judgment is only that the phenomenon of Chinese medicine cannot be explained by modern Western science and technology and medical theories. This reason can be shattered by the fact that "not being able to explain is not the same as not being able to utilize". If you look up at the birds in the sky, they are typical of those who do not understand aerodynamics but utilize the nature of air and gravity to fly. What is more, all animals do not know the theory of digestion and nutrition, but know how to utilize food to sustain their organism. Humans and even primates utilized levers before they knew the principles of leverage. Humans knew how to fire ceramics before they knew the chemistry of ceramics. People used water to irrigate crops before they knew the structure and chemistry of water. People used fire to heat their homes and grill their food before they understood the principle of combustion (oxidation reaction theory). People knew to use sunlight for warmth before they understood the nature of light. People knew how to use wind to propel a sailboat before they knew what wind was. These are all proof that "not being able to explain does not mean not being able to utilize". Is the field of Western medicine, penicillin bactericidal drugs are also the first to use up and then slowly understand the rationale (first found that mold has the role of killing bacteria - found that mold filaments do not grow next to other bacteria - soon realized the significance of this function, and soon from the mold to extract the penicillin. mold extracted penicillin and made antibiotics used in medical treatment). Both Hojo and Ark should remember their parents making them drink amber-colored bitter Chinese medicine when they were children. Please don't blame your parents, let alone reproach them for their ignorance. That was a choice they made based on the accumulated practical experience of countless people seeking medical treatment. Before Western medicine was introduced to China on a large scale at the end of the Qing Dynasty, our grandparents used Chinese medicine to cure countless people's illnesses and save (or prolong) countless lives. It is said that practice is the only criterion for testing truth. It's just that He and Ark are so brilliant that they have found that they don't want to use this standard of truth, but only rely on "whether it is in line with the limited theories that have been discovered", especially "whether it is in line with the western science" to determine the rights and wrongs of everything. People in general also love to make this mistake: to use knowledge, experience and theories that are not omnipotent (not ultimate, but still in need of continuous improvement and development) as omnipotent, and thus to judge everything right and wrong with absolute determination. Ma was ridiculed for pointing this out. What is meant by metaphysics, this is one of them! Third, how to explain the title of this section of Chinese medicine is a rather difficult question. I tried to describe it without using those borrowed concepts and the result is still image-only. Talk about the principle of healing first of all to figure out the characteristics of the body's operation. From the point of view of system theory, the human body is a huge and complex and orderly life system. From the perspective of information theory, the human body is a complex and orderly information system. Each organ and cellular organization has its own role, but coordination, unity and balance. The commander-in-chief is the human brain, and each organization has relative independence. If the transmission of information is blocked, self-regulation is limited, and one or several localized disorders in the body will produce disease. For example, if there are too many bacteria in the intestines, the intestines mobilize water from other parts of the body to flush the intestines. If the information flow is poor and the message that the rest of the body is dehydrated cannot get to the brain, the person will continue to have diarrhea to the point of severe dehydration and even death. If the information channel is open, the information about the lack of water in other parts of the body will be transmitted to the brain, and the process of calling water from other parts of the body will be aborted without severe dehydration and death. All organs in the body are self-regulating. If the kidneys are damaged due to other reasons, so that the filtration capacity of the kidneys is reduced by half, the remaining normal filtration tissues will work twice as hard to complete all the filtration tasks, in order to satisfy the need to "keep the blood low in toxins". Only when the kidney's filtration function is lost too much, the remaining good filtration organization is overloaded, then uremia will occur. The human body has the ability to fight against external aggression and internal disease. Getting sick is when one's own behavior and external intrusions exceed the body's ability to withstand them. From a macroscopic point of view, the treatment of illness in Chinese medicine is to restore the body's ability to fight illness (to restore and strengthen the body's already existing immunity to fight illness). One of the therapeutic effects of TCM is to sort out the information channels, another is to enhance the self-repairing ability of the tissues, a third is to increase the vitality of the cells and immune substances in the tissues or to restore the functions that have been lost or partially lost (or to wake up the sleeping tissues and substances to work again to fulfill their duties), and a fourth is to regulate the balance between the various parts of the body and the various kinds of balance within the same part. In a word, Chinese medicine (especially qigong practice) is to strengthen the internal management of the organism, to stop and correct disorders, to normalize the functions and roles of the various parts of the organism, or to make the organism more internally organized. The effect of acupuncture is to awaken dormant tissues through micro-stimulation, producing one or more of the four effects mentioned above. The action of qigong is generally to check and supervise the various parts of the body to bring them back to, and keep them in, normal order and working order. It is also a process of restoring vital energy to correct deviations. This is where the health and therapeutic effects of qigong come into play. The so-called "performing the great circumference of the sky" is to use one's mind to check and supervise the organs and functional tissues of the whole body to perform their respective duties, so that the internal "order" of the organism can be ensured more. The difference between herbal medicine and qigong lies only in the fact that one of them utilizes the active ingredients in the herbs to play the four roles mentioned above, while the other utilizes consciousness to play the four roles mentioned above. It can be said that qigong is invisible and costless Chinese medicine. Similar to the existence of information viruses (viral programs) in computers that are not physical but dependent on carriers, there are also information viruses (non-physical viral programs) in the human body, which disturb the normal order of the human body (the normal transmission of information) and disrupt the normal functioning and work of various parts (it is very likely that the creation of cancerous cells is due to such non-physical information viruses leading to the mutation of normal cells). Chinese medicine and qigong therapies are equivalent to checking and killing such non-physical information viruses. The future of TCM and qigong also lies in this way of treating and preventing diseases. Fourth, why are Chinese people getting more and more stupid--even Chinese medicine and qigong want to deny it? When Chinese people travel abroad, their behavior is classified as the worst and they are despised. Why have they disgraced themselves abroad? This cannot be said to be getting dumber. The IQ of Chinese people is not low, so why do they behave stupidly? The reasons may be various, but they are mainly related to the reasons stated below. The Chinese people emphasize the importance of uniformity, and even their opinions and views are no exception. Long-term "one-liners" make people gradually lose their judgment, and eventually tend to have more cognitive dissonance. If there were more cognitive dissonance in politics alone, the problem would not be so great. However, "one voice" and "undemocracy" have been extended to the academic and management fields and even to all aspects of life, so that serious cognitive dissonance exists in all fields. If people receive a single message, their thinking will not be rational. When people in a group see and receive a single point of view, people will become more and more stupid (because for a long time without the need to use their own brains to make choices and judgments, the brain becomes lazy and blunt). It is not scary for one person to make mistakes, it is scary to always make the same mistakes, and it is even scarier when most of one's compatriots in a group make the same mistakes. The latter situation not only brings down the IQ of the group, but also leads to a decline in the quality of the group. In this regard, we have had too many lessons and too many stupid things to do. Chinese medicine and qigong, which are China's national treasures, are now also widely practiced in the world. Foreigners do not deny our Chinese medicine and qigong, and there are very few complaints and grievances against Chinese medicine and qigong, so why should we make waves to deny qigong and Chinese medicine? Is this not stupid? Will this not obviously affect China's cultural export and its influence on the world? Chinese people lack the ability and habit of dialectical thinking, emphasize emotions rather than brains, and like to follow their feelings. They are more likely to make the mistake of judging everything by theories that are not omnipotent as omnipotent theories, and use the wrong judgment standard of "things that cannot be explained by Western theories are non-existent and unscientific". You are doing something stupid and you don't even know it. Want to avoid more and more stupid, must return to the dialectical track, the implementation of a hundred schools of thought, a hundred flowers and really open to the outside world policy. Fifth, how to correctly deal with Chinese medicine and folk Chinese medicine odd people say that the combination of Chinese and Western medicine is complementary has shown that "Chinese medicine can not be lost" point of view. The following is mainly by comparing the characteristics of Chinese and Western medicine and the need to supplement the description of Chinese medicine. Western medicine focuses on objective indicators in the treatment of diseases, to find out where the lesions are, where the causes of disease are, and then treat them. Western medicine focuses on objectification, digitization and theorization, therefore, it is easier for patients to accept the concepts of Western medicine. The principles of Western medicine are easily understood by patients. There are many diseases that, even if they cannot be touched, Western medicine at least makes them visible to you. There are bacterial attack to antibacterial; there are viral infections to kill the virus; there are tumors, to be surgically removed; there are blood vessels can not be put stents, bypass; there are low levels of hormones in the body to supplement hormones; there is organ failure to replace the organ. In short, what disease, Western medicine is very targeted to treat what disease. However, the clinical often appear some unsatisfactory situation. One situation is that the body can not be found in any pathological changes, but also can not be found in blood, tissue fluid, urine, sputum, feces and other substances in the body composition or content of the change, but also can not be found in the body of organic lesions, and the patient's most important reflection of self-sensory discomforts, such as headache, dizziness, ringing in the ears, panic attacks, shortness of breath, edema, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, diarrhea, fatigue, weakness, irritable heat, cold, and some non-organic factors (psychological, mental, physical, psychological, and psychological), and the patient is not able to find any pathological changes. Some non-organic factors (psychological, emotional, external stimuli, etc.) cause the disease. In this case, Western medicine, because there is no conclusive evidence as a basis for diagnosis, there is no targeted treatment measures. Another situation is that through the western medical imaging examination did find obvious organic lesions, through the biochemical examination in the patient's body found abnormal indicators, can be clearly diagnosed as suffering from a certain disease. However: there is no effective treatment for these diseases; or Western medicine is only symptomatic treatment of the surface, not from the root to eliminate the root cause of the disease treatment measures; or Western medicine is not as short as Chinese medicine, side effects, good efficacy and low price of treatment. Such as various malignant tumors, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, chronic nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, pulmonary heart disease, chronic heart failure, hypertension, coronary artery disease, arteriosclerosis, cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral embolism caused by the sequelae of diabetes mellitus, chronic colitis, esophageal hiatal hernia, habitual colds, immunocompromised disease, hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, vitiligo, lupus erythematosus. hypothyroidism, lupus erythematosus, vitiligo, psoriasis and other intractable diseases. When it comes to these diseases Chinese medicine has many advantages. The spread of Chinese medical skills to foreign countries is also a boon to patients with these diseases. Rejecting Chinese medicine, patients with these diseases will have to suffer more, and the mortality rate of patients with lupus erythematosus and patients with extensive burns (scalds) will also increase greatly. TCM's understanding of disease is based on the results obtained from a comprehensive analysis of symptoms. In other words, as long as there are symptoms, clinical manifestations, self-perception, and changes in external signs, a comprehensive diagnosis can be made, and the attributes of the lesion, the location, and the trend of the disease can be deduced, so that appropriate treatment measures can be taken. Although TCM's understanding of these issues is abstract, the method of comprehensive diagnosis is simple and plain, and the means of treatment is concise, the curative effect is very remarkable. The important factor lies in the fact that Chinese medicine's understanding of disease is based on the consideration of the human being as a whole, and on the relationship between man and nature. While focusing on the treatment of localized lesions, it is necessary to completely change the internal and external conditions of the whole organism. By replenishing its deficiency, cutting its fact, dispelling its disease and evil, and opening its meridians and channels, the purpose of harmonizing yin and yang is achieved. For example, the part of patients who cannot find any pathological changes in Western medicine can be regulated by TCM in a comprehensive way just according to their symptoms. Not like Western medicine must be endless to find where the lesions are. Because of the level of modern medicine and many diseases can not find the cause of the disease. Is another three, fifty years, one hundred years, two hundred years, scientific development, but will not reach the peak, I believe there will be unable to find the cause of the disease. Because the human body after hundreds of millions of years ago, biological evolution process, the development of today, although can not be said to be perfect, but can also be said to be the mystery of the infinite. There are many mysteries to be explored in the wonderful world of human body, which cannot be accomplished by one or two generations. Therefore, the theories and techniques of modern medicine and the materialistic view and methodology are still far from being able to solve this series of problems. Chinese medicine, on the other hand, does not need to dissect the human body, dissect the localities, explore the subtle structures and observe the quantitative indexes, it only needs to combine the objective manifestations with the subjective sensations, and make use of various different treatments to ameliorate and eliminate the body's signs, symptoms and feelings of discomfort. If these abnormalities are relieved and disappear, and the pain of the body is relieved, the disease is considered cured. Mastering the law of disease development within the human body is like mastering the trajectory of the movement of things. If the disease is compared to the enemy, Chinese medicine treatment of disease, you can take the guest as the host, to take advantage of the victory, siege and blockade, luring the enemy in-depth method of treatment, the complement is complementary, the attack is attacked, the chemical is transformed, the pass is through, the human body from a disease occurs in a vicious cycle state, converted to a benign cycle state to come. No matter from which link, cutting off a certain link of the vicious cycle will stop the development of the disease. Then, through the correct cause and effect, the disease can be transformed to the good side. If the disease is made to return to its original path, the tumor will also gradually disappear. If we compare the disease to the ruling group controlled by Chiang Kai-shek, and the medical team to the revolutionary team, especially if we compare Mao Zedong's team to the Chinese medicine practitioners and Zhu De's team to the Western medicine practitioners, do you think it is better for the two teams to be united or not to be united? After a long period of clinical practice, Chinese medicine has produced many kinds of treatment methods. Different treatment methods can be chosen for different diseases. These methods include internal and external medication, qigong, acupuncture, gua sha, acupoints, massage, cupping, guiding and so on, all of which are able to regulate and treat the human body from one side or another. Although they act on the human body in different ways, different parts, different strength, different principles, but the purpose is the same. As long as the vicious circle can be broken and blocked in a certain link, the disease will be improved. Since the adaptability of various treatments to the disease will not be exactly the same, the therapeutic effect will not be exactly the same. There may be only one optimal treatment program, or it may be a combination of several programs. When the western treatment of the disease is not effective, we have to consider changing to another treatment method - the use of our traditional Chinese medicine for treatment. A miracle may be born here, thus returning you to a healthy and intact organism. Why do Westerners not want Chinese medicine and why do they live longer than Chinese people? This question is more complicated. Because there are many factors affecting the life expectancy of a person, not only the medical treatment. Living habits, living conditions, medical conditions and political environment are all important factors. China has made a lot of efforts in human rights over the years (meaning after the Cultural Revolution), and the level of human rights has improved considerably, but there is still a big gap between the level of human rights and that of developed countries. People in the country have complaints that they do not say on their lips, but they still keep them in their hearts, which leads to a lower level of pleasantness than people in developed Western countries, and has a certain impact on the average life expectancy. North Korea's average life expectancy is lower than South Korea's, and the factor of human emotions should not be underestimated. It can be seen that for the length of average life expectancy, it is one-sided to talk about the medical method factor alone. What do westerners do when they have a headache, fever or unexplained discomfort? They can choose to do yoga, take a sauna, soak in a hot spring, go to the gym, sunbathe, take a mud bath, take a sand bath, go for a walk, or travel. These choices are similar to choosing Chinese medicine and qigong, which can also be said to be a continuation of Chinese medicine. With the introduction of Chinese medicine, there are many people in the West who also choose Chinese medicine for treatment. Westerners relax by traveling, which is much healthier than Chinese people's tense nerves. Of course, they can also take "Potassium Chloride + Dextrose" or "Amino Acid + Dextrose" to relieve unexplained symptoms. Chinese medicine has a holistic view (treating the symptoms without forgetting to treat the root cause) while Western medicine only has a localized view of treating the head when there is a headache and the foot when there is a footache. As an example, Western doctors use Viagra to treat sexual inadequacy, but only for a long time without ejaculation to present a momentary hero, while Chinese medicine use deer blood, not only also achieve immediate results, but also take into account the tonic for the kidneys to strengthen the body. The advantage of Western medicine is quantitative and precise, the disadvantage of Chinese medicine is qualitative and vague. At present, we have not conducted enough research on Chinese medicine. If research efforts are stepped up to enable Chinese medicine to take a step forward in the direction of quantification and precision, the effectiveness and acceptability of Chinese medicine will also be greatly enhanced. If research on Chinese medicine remains stagnant, Chinese medicine will really be in danger of being discarded. There are thousands of herbs to choose from in Chinese medicine. How many ways are there to choose twenty elements at random from thousands of different elements? It is not difficult for those who have studied math to figure it out. It should be a very large number. Add to this the fact that there are variations in the proportions of quantities and variations in the number of elements used, and there are even more options to choose from. It can be seen that Chinese medicine has very much room for development. The final conquest of some incurable diseases such as cancer may also depend on Chinese medicine. The advantage of Chinese medicine is that it is fast in detecting diseases and low in cost in curing them. Take stone disease in the body as an example. Western medicine has to undergo ultrasound (or X-ray) to determine the existence of stones. After diagnosis, if the stone is too small, there is nothing good to do. When the stone grows up, it can be removed surgically or by laser extracorporeal lithotripsy. The annoying thing is that after Western medicine removes the stone, there is a high possibility that the stone will grow back. Chinese medicine can determine the stone disease based on some external characteristics, regardless of the size of the stone can be detoxified by taking traditional Chinese medicine. After removing the stones, the stone disease is not likely to recur. For the same stone disease, the cost of Western medicine is thousands of times higher than the cost of Chinese medicine. The treatment of most diseases is more expensive in Western medicine than in Chinese medicine. Therefore, on the whole, Chinese medicine is an inexpensive healing art that is suitable for popularization in poorer Africa and for application in remote mountainous areas that are far away from big hospitals. Replacing witch doctors in Africa with TCM has certain advantages. Western surgical treatments for hernia are also more prone to recurrence, while hernia treatment with TCM is not prone to recurrence. Chinese medicine has a lot of room for development, and those who study Chinese medicine to reach a very high level appear to be out of their depth. Utilizing the thinking that the more outrageous, the more fake, Chinese medicine practitioners who have reached a higher level are easily regarded as frauds instead. In reality it is a reflection of the fact that TCM has a lot of room to grow. The Beckleyism of feeling is reality is one-sided. The Hegelian view that "existence is reasonable" is also incomplete. If a thing can exist without complaints (which is not easy), its existence is in the hearts of the people and is reasonable. Therefore, I believe that an existence without complaints is a reasonable existence. It is also a fact that CMT exists objectively, and it is also a fact that CMT does not have large-scale complaints or complaints of above-average probability. According to the judgment that "existence without complaints is reasonable existence", Chinese medicine is a reasonable existence. Chinese medicine talents, self-taught more, to one to one master and apprentice inheritance method of inheritance is also more. Before the liberation of China, there were decades of turmoil, and in the thirty years after the liberation, the majority of peasants still had to worry about filling their stomachs, and there was little freedom in their labor and living arrangements. During this time it was difficult for people to independently choose to study Chinese medicine and qigong, and martial arts, Chinese medicine and qigong were lost during this period. It is time for us to spend a great deal of effort on digging up and organizing unconventional Chinese medicine and qigong that have been lost or are on the verge of being lost. For those who hold classes to teach Chinese medicine and qigong or use qigong and Chinese medicine to cure diseases and save lives, there is no stipulation on academic qualifications and qualifications, and consideration should be given to granting licenses on the basis of clinical trial results and successful cases on an exceptional basis. The emperors of the past believed that there were beautiful women in the folklore, so why don't we believe that there are wizards in the folklore? Sixth, looking forward to the necessity of the existence of a thing, the first lies in the objectivity of its existence, the second lies in its practical value. Chinese medicine is objective and has its practical value. There are a large number of cases of the efficacy of Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine is one of the practical types of medical arts. To say that Chinese medicine is false has the same problem of an unformed chain of evidence and an unstrict chain of logic. The effects in the human body caused by the consumption of Chinese herbs are objective and are supported by a large body of evidence from clinical trials. To say that Chinese medicine is absolutely and universally ineffective (except for the comforting effect mentioned by Ark) is not sufficient evidence. The only basis for Ho and Ark to say that TCM hospitals are pseudo-scientific is that "TCM cannot be explained by modern Western medical theories". The authors of this article believe that scientific research is divided into two categories: basic research and applied research, and the development of science and technology has shown that there have always been two kinds of situations: first there are theoretical results and then there are applications of theoretical results; and applied results provide research topics for basic research. Just as stated above: not being able to explain is not the same as not being able to apply. "Not being able to explain is not the same as not being able to apply", "the objectivity of the complementarity between Chinese medicine and Western medicine", and "the objective existence of incurable diseases can also be attempted to be attacked by means of Chinese medicine" **** the same determines that Chinese medicine has medical value. The interpretation of Chinese medicine is yet to be perfected, Chinese medicine has room for development.
